Will Marconi, the cyborg super soldier who started all this, is still hungry for vengeance as well. The End of Knighthood II: The King’s move is book three of the Reverence series by Joshua Landeros is yet another sci-fi thrill. The Crimson Angels are working diligently and dangerously in an attempt to stop the treacherous Chancellor Venloran. This dictator is on a mission to take the United Nation’s Republic and its deadly army of Super Soldiers to full superpower status. Once again, we meet up with the rebel fighters, Captain Halsey, also the general of the Crimson Angels, and Gabby, who have furthered the cause of the Crimson Angels by securing powerful information. Unfortunately, they have also secured their places in the clutches of Venloran. This means they must escape quickly or pay the ultimate price, their own lives and the life of the resistance movement. Wiliiam Marconi, former Super Soldier, is not a stranger to the wicked ways of the UNR. He is highy motivated for revenge and when a cyborg soldier wants vengeance there is little that will get in his way. Chancelor Venloran has been marked by Marconi but there are huge implications if he follows through with his plan. The International Summit, where Venloran will be in attendance, may be the scene of a world-changing event. The characters in this book continue to advance naturally along their story arcs. The connections he builds between characters is tangible and realistic. The reader discovers pain and hurt in the lives of these characters as a connecting element. The crescendo of action that Landeros produces in this work is enough to secure the reader’s attention page after page. The violence and war action are palpable with battle scenes that are full of descriptive visuals. The story also includes some great political themes that blend well with the science fiction elements. Landeros has created a story-line and characters that the reader will want to follow through the entire series. He writes with intelligence and intensity that permeates across all segments of his plot. Despite the other worldly elements, the humanistic features of his characters and their back stories creates a connection. I really enjoyed this installment and look forward to reading about the continuing tribulations of this cast of characters.

End of Knighthood Part II: The King’s Move is the third book in the Reverence series by Joshua Landeros. This book continues the trend of a futuristic, science-fiction piece. This book continues to follow will, the ex-soldier for the United Nation’s Republic, now fighting for the resistance. The fight continues with Will seeking his revenge, and the resistance is caught by the enemy. Chancellor Venloran has them right where he wants them and it may be the end of the resistance. While the resistance has achieved a lot, it may be for nothing. This book is right in the action.

Like its predecessor, this book was not as military-based as the first in the series. This book was much more thriller-based than science-fiction. I think that is because the science-fiction portion of the storyline has been fixed, and the reader is now familiar with the super soldiers and how they work. Focusing on the thriller portion of the book gives it a more edge of your seat quality that makes it a quicker, highly anticipated read. What makes this book more interesting than the previous ones is the constant question on which side is going to have the advantage and be victorious.

Like his previous books in the series, I found this to be pretty accurate in the portrayal of how conflicts occur within countries. For instance, there is Chancellor Venloran, who is fighting for dictatorship, and then a group of rebels who have banded together to stop world domination. I could see this put into an action movie or even a TV show. Landeros can paint a scene in your head as you read the book, clearly seeing the actions of the characters. I also like how he is able to create such complicated characters with their own wants, needs, and motivations, all while having some other major goal that moves the plot along nicely. Additionally, Landeros is able to pick up the events from the previous book flawlessly, creating a seamless continuance that delves right into the meat of the story. The book moves quickly with fast dialogue and sometimes even faster action.

I personally enjoyed this book even though I typically do not read books of this nature. It is more of a war book for me. While not heavily militaristic, you can tell the book is leading up to the possibility of a major war. I also like Will’s character arc throughout the series so far. He has changed from the super soldier that we know to a rebel in the resistance motivated by his humanity despite containing many machine parts. I would recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of war books, apocalyptic thrillers, politics, and anyone who likes books with complex characters and plots. It has a little bit of something for many different readers. I would also recommend this to anyone who likes a good old fashioned revenge story. I think Will’s storyline alone is enough to read this book series.

As the Crimson Angels continue to train for their rebellion against the UNR, the stakes are increasingly getting higher for everyone involved. The International Summit is quickly approaching and with it, the opportunity to disrupt Chancellor Venloran’s plans to make the UNR an unchallenged worldwide superpower. Meanwhile, Will, Marisol, and Aliss are still continuing their respective missions concerning their families and the fates of the first 50 super soldiers. The situation gets even more convoluted when Will is offered a chance to destroy the UNR...at the cost of a possible world war. As the conflict steadily increases, the question is- whose side has the advantage?
In “The End of Knighthood Part II: The King’s Move” by Joshua Landeros, the story picks up immediately after the events of his last book. The political strategy, family drama, and interpersonal relationships become even more defined and conflicted as both sides of the battle continue to work toward their ultimate goals. Chancellor Venloran clearly has world domination in his sights, and event those within his cabinet aren’t safe if he feels they might stand in his way. The Crimson Angels, meanwhile, are doing everything they can to prevent that global dictatorship and believe heartily that completely free will needs to be restored to the people. THey have enlisted the help of another country’s government, furthering the chance for an international incident and more lives lost. And Will’s proposition, unknown to the other Angels, is to intentionally take the lives of innocent people, but all for the greater good. Marisol is still on the run, with Aliss still in prusuit. She knows what future she faces if he catches up, and hopes that her family can be her saviours.
Landeros wastes no time moving the story along, and does an expert job of creating characters that have both depth and motivation for their actions. He also does extremely well portraying the camaraderie and tensions that would exist in any group of mixed backgrounds. Each character’s story fits nicely within the narrative, with nothing seeming forced. In fact, many of them show a huge amount of growth as the book progresses. Will and Gabby especially exhibit a drastic amount of change over the course of these events, becoming steadily more intricate and interesting.
More so than the previous two books in the series, Landeros creates an underlying theme of regret and redemption throughout the book. Each of the main characters has a backstory that includes loss and every one of them is driven by that to some degree, hoping that some preferred outcome can help erase the pain of the past. In that sense, all of them are incredibly human and relatable to some degree.
“The End of Knighthood Part II: The King’s Move” is easily 5 out of 5 starts for me. While a lot of author’s may have issues with pacing, Landeros finds that elusive balance between action and character development. It’s just as easy to become invested in each of their individual stories as it is the plotline as a whole, and I can’t wait until the next book to see how it all may end!

Things are getting spicy as we delve into the third book of the Reverence series. This edition, End of Knighthood Part II: The King’s Move by Joshua Landeros is just as action-packed as it’s predecessors. William Marconi has returned to exact his revenge. This moment, this time of sweet release from all that plagues him comes in a way Will might not have expected. But will he move forward with his revenge? Can he discard everything that is dear to him and pay this unexpected price? This is the story of our cyborg super-soldier and his last grips on his humanity.
Readers were no doubt excited for this installment of the Reverence series. This is the second book in the End of Knighthood series so it can be a bit confusing to realize it’s actually the third book in total. That doesn’t make it any less exciting or entertaining, however. The fact that Will is a cyborg is crucial to this story. He is a super soldier: he has sacrificed so much for his country and he’s enraged at the results. He has been working so hard for a revenge that not everyone can understand. But Will isn’t invulnerable. This is a key point that Landeros uses to show that while Will has become mostly machine, there is still a part of him that is human.
The struggle between good versus evil is prevalent throughout this book. Landeros uses his excellent story-telling skills to lull the reader in and then trap them into a world where they hunger for more. Even if you aren’t the most savvy when it comes to technology, this book will still be interesting to read. Some science-fiction books are heavy on the technological jargon and it requires a bit more than casual understanding in order to enjoy it. This isn’t the case with Landeros’ writing.
Anyone who is looking for a thrilling read with enjoyable characters and that delicious tenseness that comes from a good versus evil battle is sure to enjoy The End of Knighthood Part II: The King’s Move by Joshua Landeros. With characters readers can connect with to action-packed scenes there’s something in here for everyone. This is not a series to pass up. How can you go wrong with a Terminator-inspired, Big Brother meets Skynet setting? The point is, you can’t. This is book is so much more than mindless violence with robots. It’s a question of humanity in a future that might not be that far off from our own.

‘End of Knighthood Part II: The King's Move ‘is the third book of the Reverence series. Just like the first book, ‘End of Knighthood Part II’ consists of strong elements and characters who are entertaining, hardcore, and excellently developed. This book is a page-turner with several plot twists, wild scenes, intense adventure, and a fantastic storyline. You are bound to idolize some characters who are both brave and valuable and loathe some who are painted as villains. William Marconi is a cyborg. He is hailed for his ability to deal with his enemies. William had been a member of United Nation Republic’s Super Soldier Forces a while back. He later on joined a different group, Crimson Angels. William Marconi works closely with his partners Captain Joseph Halsey, Jacob, and Gabriella Neeson.
Captain Halsey is the one in charge of William’s new group. Captain Halsey is heading the group which is rebelling the barbaric UNR government. The group strategizes on how to oppose UNR’s policies, including its latest weapons. They, however, are not aware that by doing so, they are setting themselves up to be baited by the ruthless UNR government. Chancellor Venloran, the head of UNR waits for the group to make a move so as to trap them. It is unfortunate that even with all the strategy Crimson Angels has, the brutal Chancellor managed to get to them. Their plans are halted after the Chancelorrs men wait for Halsey and his team.
Wiliam Marconi is not to be underrated. Even with the powers the Chancellor has, William is still determined to revenge. William is sometimes referred to as the Wolf. His alias befits him as he is resilient, fierce and fights to the end. I like how Joshua Landeros created William. He is one character that the reader loves as they follow them on their adventure. He is a good fighter and a good schemer. He may have a blind spot every once in a while but William is one of those individuals whose services can be relied on in the group. Chancellor Venloran was a despicable character. I viewed him as a selfish, manipulative, and cruel psycho.
I disliked the chancellor from the start but understood why the author had to give him the villainous traits. The Chancellor was the main antagonist in the book. Marisol Leone was a cyborg and a very interesting character to follow. ‘End of Knighthood Part II: The King's Move’ is your book if you enjoy fantasy and science fiction novels. The violent scenes in the book are sometimes intense, but nothing that you wouldn’t enjoy. Be ready to indulge in content that features extreme cyborg fights and aerial combat scenes. The character development by Joshua Landeros is one of the best things in the book. The author knows how to create characters that will have readers engrossed in their actions. The ending of the book was great. No chapter seemed bland. Every page in the book was exciting to read. Joshua Landeros’s book is a thriller that you cannot resist.

End of Knighthood Part II: The King’s Move by Joshua Landeros continues the riveting tale of a futuristic alliance of rebel fighters in an uprising against a galactic empire. In the third installment of the Reverence series the fight for the galaxy continues right where the second book, End of Knighthood Part I: The Chess Pieces, left off. Captain Halsey, the general of the Crimson Angels, and Gabriella Neeson, a freedom fighter, track the movements and actions of the UNR, desperately trying to keep them from advancing their agenda. But they fall into a trap laid by the tyrant chancellor Venloran and must escape or die. The cyborg soldier Will Marconi A.K.A. The Wolf continues his rampage of vengeance against the UNR for taking everything from him. Will he achieve his goal at long last? Or will he finally lose it all? Will the Crimson Angels be able to save themselves and everyone they love, or will Venloran finally destroy this thorn in his side?
As with the previous books in this series, the action scenes are vibrant and violent, sometimes shockingly so, and bring the reader into the world in a viscerally present way. The pacing keeps the story moving quickly, although sometimes the reader may feel left behind by rapid-fire dialogue-heavy scenes. The tension is kept high throughout the story, leaving readers at the edge of their seats.
Sci-fi and political thriller fans alike will enjoy this twisting, turning story of adventure, revenge, manipulation, and struggle against authoritarian power. It has themes that many readers will identify with, as well as a cast of rich characters. These characters are occasionally lost behind the extensive dialogue scenes that could have been smoothed out or enlivened to match the urgency and intensity of the fight scene descriptions. I definitely wouldn't recommend it for people who aren't a fan of military fiction, as this series relies heavily on soldiers interacting in that highly-specialized environment and it can get dry or confusing for people unfamiliar with those conventions.
This book almost serves as a placeholder between the exposition of End of Knighthood Part I: The Chess Pieces and the following installment, End of Knighthood Part III: Ballad of Demise. Will the resistance emerge victorious? Or will our heroes finally succumb to the UNR's spreading darkness? Read on to find out.
