I picked this book not because I am an Empath but for character research. I am writing a story, and one of my characters is an Empath. However, I definitely learnt a lot from this book and will follow some of the advice which I think is useful for all. For example, I want to 'block' negative people in my life, and those that drain me. I need positivity, support, and encouragement, which I do have but not from everybody (of course).

If you are an Empath, this book is ideal for you as it shows you how to be the best. For that reason, I recommend.

Another Tool for Your Arsenal

Being an empath can be a challenge, so having some additional tools available to help protect this gift is important. If you find you are plagued by people constantly draining you by their negativity, then this book will be perfect for you. Not only is this a quick read, it gives you exercises to implement to strengthen your skill while also protecting you from becoming burned out.

Good if crystals and mysticism are your bag

Not so much for me, but that doesn't mean there aren't some positive takeaways. Learning to say no, avoiding energy vampires, not being so eager to please, accepting that the world won't end with a little conflict, etc. are all good practices and things to remember.

Admiring yourself with obsidian seems more like a placebo and using empathy to contact spirits? Not so useful for me. I also tended to prefer analysis and found the real world examples to be a little contrived.

The writing itself was clear, purposeful and concise. If mysticism is in your wheelhouse, I think you will enjoy this book and find it useful. Very few editorial issues, so a good job putting out a clean book by the author.

An interesting read. Some of the information is quite useful, however I strongly disagree with saying "NO" to grandma who needs help painting herself because you want to chill. There are times when we need to say no, but that is not one of them.

If you feel you are an empath and need help this is a good place to start.

Are you afraid to say No to friends and family who ask for your help? Do certain smells or bright lights give you a headache? Do you not watch the TV news because all those negative events totally drain you? Do you intentionally avoid people because of their negative emotions? Congratulations, you are a Highly Sensitive Person, or maybe even an empath.

There is no reason for concern; all it means is that you feel emotions more strongly than the average person. Empaths look for time to be alone to recuperate and de-stress. Empaths can easily read and interpret emotional cues, and they can also easily tell when someone is lying to them. The "sixth sense" of an empath is more tuned in than average, so they can sense potential danger before other people.

An energy vampire does not have fangs or suck blood. They are deceptive, and masters of manipulation. They are also notorious guilt-trippers and are prone to making threats. What can the average empathetic person do to lessen their influence? Don't talk to them. Use mindfulness practice and visualization to improve your positive outlook on life. Get in the habit of smiling; the higher emotional vibration will be felt by low-vibration energy vampires. Practice positive affirmations.

What can an empathic person do, in general. to shield themselves? Learn how to say "No" (it will take practice). Your health and well-being should be your top priority. Take up yoga or other light exercise. Enjoy the outdoors. Buy flowers for yourself. Get eight hours of sleep. Create physical distance or barriers. Consider using protective stones or crystals.

This is a short, and interesting, general look at the "world" of empathy. If you, or someone you know, is more empathic than average, then reading this book will be time well spent.

Empath’s Ultimate Guide to Shield, Yourself from Negative Energies, is a short, non- fiction, self-help book. It provides a step by step action plan on how to learn and successfully calm your busy mind. Using techniques like energy healing and self-care, the author introduces ways for the reader to identify if he or she is an empath. Once the reader has determined the difference between being Empathic and being an Empath, it is then explained how one can use this technique to distinguish between the “Energy Vampires” and how to shield themselves from it.

I found the book to be very short, and for that, it was a little disappointing. I believe with much more added content, the work would have sustained higher validity, and a better understand, however, what did exist was very useful and interesting to read.

With the life and busy schedules that we all run these days, I believe any book that demonstrates ways and methods to cleanse the mind and to better the living, would be advantageous to have.

The literature was easy to read and to follow. There were some added pictures and diagrams to make the content more appealing to the eye. It is clear that the author has attempted to stay away from theories and exercises in order to produce a novel book.

I would recommend this to people that are into healing, self-help, and decluttering the mind.

I have to be honest, when I started to read this book I laughed a little at the irony of the title, The Ultimate Guide To Shield Yourself From Negative Energies when the first chapter was all about the negative experiences the author had in their childhood and early adulthood. But I kept at it and decided to give the book a chance.

This book, although short, has many interesting points and suggestions. Although I would never claim to be an empath (more brick like most would suggest) it has given me insight into the thoughts of those who claim to be this and reasons behind their actions and reactions.

I would rate this book as 3.5 out of 5, but as Amazon does not allow half points I have nudged it to a 4. It is not that I didn't like the book, it is more that I thought it very brief and there were chapters that could very easily have been expanded upon e.g. listing the stones that would help an empath, this is great but would be even better if the author listed the benefits of each and which chakras they represented. The chapter on vampires (the energy sort lol) was well thought out and quite informative.

Overall, it is a good read, a quick read but it does not go into much detail.

Interesting Read

Although, I completely understand the concept of empathy, this is my first contact with empath. Informative intro to help decide if you are indeed an empath. If you are the author takes you chapter by chapter to help you put things into perspecrive. This is a quick and easy read.

Embracing my gifts

I was excited about reading this book. I have been struggling with how to protect myself from energy vampires. I liked those ideas. I carry a coin with a warrior. St Michael, as my protector. I love the stones and crystals which are also jewelry I wear daily. It was fun to read and to know I am not alone. Thank you for such an insightful book.

A bit of quackery. Basically, say "no" to everybody and everything except the things you enjoy, do some meditating and yoga, eat and sleep healthy and have some rocks. Suspect the author may be an energy vampire.

Helpful information

There are some very helpful information in this book. But because of my beliefs (I'm a Christian), I did overlook/ignore things that may appear to be new age (example: use of crystals).

Practical tools and explanations.

I really liked the simplistic point by point explanations offered by Ms. Quinn. Some useful tools and reminders about self care and why we sometimes behave or feel the way we do. Excellent read.

Over the course of a lifetime I have killed off the Empath that I was born to be. It was just too painful getting hurt all the time. Don't do that to yourselves. Read this book instead. It's small but it is mighty.

This is a quick and helpful read. I had no idea how many different kinds of Empaths there were, nor about Forest Bathing or using Protective Stones. A very positive reading experience.
