Imagine a world where the greatest comic book crossover of all time inspires a movie adaptation… and that movie adaptation inspires its own comic book! Visionary writer-artist Tom Scioli returns to the weird world of Transformers vs. G.I. Joe and brings an even weirder twist to this new what would the comic book adaptation of the movie version of the comic book look like? It's time to find out in the most epic, scintillating, off-the-wall, exciting comic of 2017!
Oddity as adaptation of a fictional movie based on real (great) comics. Main strength is in imagining Scioli and Barber's series on DVD and this as 'bonus features': it's a 20 page comic spotlighting great moments, re-imagining others, and while Scioli's art is as beautiful as ever it has a 24-hour comics feel to it. There's also the full 20 page thumbnails, stripped down matching the finished work; cheeky in-Hollywood universe editorials by Scioli and some unseen >gorgeous< pin-ups. Certainly worth it for fans of the three volume series. New readers should go to there rather than this short cut.
This was…..not good. I expected something random and crazy, but even this was too far. It was like the pages weren’t even related to each other at times. Hard to follow, artwork was sloppy and terrible, and it didn’t really conclude the story. Even included in kindle unlimited for free it is one star.
Hahah, very amusing! Love the interviews and behind the scenes movie special effects article at the end 😁 A brilliant fantasy of Joe versus Bot. The comic of the film of the comic. Genius.
"On Cybertron there is no pace for love" - at last, with polar bears melting all around us and a narky George Bush robot in every home, Hollywood has finally given us something we can relate to!
