A fantastic book by a fantastic author. Mr. Von Hagen doesn't just know Ubuntu, he knows Linux, and there's a lot to learn in this book about both. It's a huge volume, so it will literally take you from knowing next to nothing to then being able to set up a Linux computer, use it with great efficiency than any other computer you've ever used, installing applications, even setting up your own home server! Amazing stuff, and as intimidating as it might sound to a newcomer who isn't even sure what this "Linux" thing is, this book makes it approachable, and then as you acclimate to the the concepts, it takes it all farther into the cool technical stuff.

I've read some of the other big books on various Linuxae, and I guess I'd have to say that this one is great for both newcomers and those jacks-of-all-trades who can't quite figure out what to focus on and just wants to learn it all. And for everyone else it's a great reference book. Highly recommended.

Looks like a complete guide to Ubuntu Linux. Using Unix environment at work makes me familiar with the early chapters. One interesting thing: this operating system offers a substitution for iTunes which means if I ever want to use this operating system completely, I can still use my iPod.

Will continues skimming through this "bible" for more enlightenment :-)

A pretty good comprehensive kick-start that gets into a fair amount of detail on administration as well.

alright, a little dense/wordy/incomprehensible. Probably best for an exp. linux user.
