Paul Hudson is one of the greatest authors amongst the most experienced programmers out there, delivering his sharp, broadly refined knowledge and well-earned standpoints regarding truthful and critically-acclaimed practices for programmers. The abundant ease of linguistic wielding constitutes the icing on the cake of each of his publications, including this one.

The book itself contains some mild semantic misplacements, as well as several omissions and typos, surely resulting out of haste, but some of these may be classified as engagement-provoking, to make sure the reader makes sense of what is being read. The videos provide a broadened context to any ambiguity one may encounter while reading; based on form preferences, they may constitute an emergency help in such cases (as it was for me); both forms may work interchangeably here and there. The author seems less enthusiastic about lecturing less Swift-related content, but that is completely alright; it may also indicate how many springs have passed since the book’s release, considering the author’s current vibrant form of expression. Humour, though, entertains invariably.

As the author in a sense clarifies it himself in one of the chapters, the book offers fundamentals comprehensive enough to proceed with further advancements in due time, in favor of one’s IT career. Definitely a recommended read.

A good book. I appreciated the advice for git, Terminal commands, and regular expressions. Some of the examples, like piping text straight from command line, were not readily applicable, and he pontificates a little bit about workstyle and team-building, but overall, I found the book enlightening and useful.

Written by Paul Hudson, the author of Hacking with Swift and Pro Swift, Beyond Code is a book teaching tools and technologies that every software developer should know. Covered in this book are Unix, Git, Regular Expressions, how to hire, Agile and Scrum, and more. There are videos explaining all concepts. I wholeheartedly recommend this book, as well as Hacking with Swift and Pro Swift, and really anything that Paul authors. Check out Beyond Code at https://www.hackingwithswift.com/stor...
