This is a book that can really change lives, and I'm not someone who often uses hyperbole to make a point. When I was diagnosed with MS in 2012 I was lucky to find the Overcoming MS programme very quickly and then I changed my diet. It wasn't easy and it has been a more depressing experience than I have wanted to admit to myself. I had to give up on the food I had grown up with and loved - meat, cream, and that 'fat and sugar combo' that is so addictive and comforting.

The OMS Cookbook is now published and I feel I can live again. This book is more than I ever hoped for. I had reluctantly had to shelve my Nigella Lawson and Nigel Slater cook books when I adopted the OMS diet and although I had embraced the OMS lifestyle I was still grieving for the food I could no longer eat. Often I could only focus on what I was missing even though I put a very brave face on it. Now I have a book of recipes that I can cook and food I can really enjoy. I am inspired.

Ingrid's story that introduces the book brought tears to my eyes. She captured the feelings that I think many will recognise about how food is so central to our lives and when, for health reasons, we make big changes with the food we eat we struggle to maintain a mental equilibrium. What we choose to eat defines each one of us so fundamentally and making large changes is hard and emotionally hits us very deeply. This book is really healing.

I have to declare an interest as four or five of the 250 recipes in the book are ones I have contributed. I will continue to cook them but now I have a wonderfully wide repertoire of meals I can choose from. It is so liberating. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the book and especially to Ingrid Adelsberger who had the idea for the book and brought it to fruition.

I think this is actually a great cookbook for anyone. The recipes are healthy and nourishing for the body and the mind - I will feel creative and inspired in the kitchen again. I hope it attracts a very wide readership, it deserves to.

Are you a human with a strong desire to be healthy? This book is based on evidence that translates to healthier, better living for everyone - not just people with MS. The food is sort-of vegan with fish and honey if you like.

If you're familiar with the program and the science you know the advantages of a low saturated fat diet. It's not a fad and nothing new, although the body of evidence is building steadily. Low (with a goal of no) saturated fat (not to be confused with low fat - we need fats, but GOOD ones), whole foods whenever possible, healthy seafoods, and a drink or two with your friends - these are food choices I can live with!

The author's done a great job of gathering proven recipes from around the globe, testing them, and compiling them in a way that makes it all imminently doable. There's even a meal plan for a week to show how it's done. Fantastic.

Low saturated fat, whole food, plant-based, with fish. Think Dr. Campbell and THE CHINA STUDY, etc.

Think Dr. Gregor of nutritionfacts.org and HOW NOT TO DIE.

great resource, wonderful cross section of recipes and the vast majority are quick and easy. One of the few cookbooks I have ever seen where I would cook almost everything in it. I've had my copy for 2 weeks, have made 3 recipes and they are all winners. Lots of kid friendly recipes too.
In indispensable resource for anyone following this lifestyle.

I was living with MS for years before being officially diagnosed in 2021. I got annual MRIs, and I did not take any meds due to side effects. I had one flare up in 2021. My legs decided to a break and I was numb from the waist down. I decided to try MS-4 from Uine Health Centre. The numbness and Muscle spasms went away after a couple of weeks, but it took almost 3 months to walk properly without a cane. In June, it will be four years without incident, and I am extremely happy that I made the decision to not take any meds and went for the MS-4 formula even though my neurologist got upset and one told me to quit my job because I will be disabled. Well, I am not disabled, I still refuse to take those meds, and I am doing just fine. Believe in yourself and go with your instincts. Doctors don't know it all. I’m surprised a lot of people with MS haven’t heard of the MS-4 protocol, I got the treatment from uinehealthcentre. com I am absolutely confident that this protocol offers a viable solution. I hope you find it helpful.

This book will be really helpful to anyone wanting to get started on the 'changing your diet' journey and unsure where to start. It also has lots of lovely recipes but I think the standouts for me are the menu plans, nutritionist advice and the 'shopping' list to get your pantry and fridge set up and ready to go.

The layout is clear and compelling. There are no photos but that would detract from the message of hope - that you can make a real difference by changing what you eat, and that it can be really enjoyable!

I embraced the OMS recommendations in February 2010 as I had nothing to lose by giving a try. So I already have a repertoire of recipes, some of them are in this book, but I have now discovered a lot more thanks to all the other generous contributors. This book is a inspirational resource whether you are unsure where to start, or are already familiar with OMS.

This book is an invaluable resource to anyone following the OMS program and it's dietary recommendations.

It's simple, well laid out, so easy to follow and has such a wide variety of ideas - its giving me a lot of inspiration for new and interesting dishes that I can safely add to my diet.
The author has tested every recipe to ensure compliance to OMS, as well as being nutritious and very tasty!

This book is really fabulous and will be just so useful. It has already become my 'go to' guide when I'm looking for some inspiration, suggestion, tips or helpful hints. I highly recommend this OMS Cookbook.
