A Syriac edition, with English translation, of a the folk-lore and legends connected to Alexander the Great. This ancient text represents a Greek text that is much older than any text that has been known before.
Sir Ernest Alfred Thompson Wallis Budge was an English Egyptologist, Orientalist, and philologist who worked for the British Museum and published numerous works on the ancient Near East.
Read this for a project in university and well it is a fun read. I enjoy it more than The Greek Alexander Romance, even though they are basically the same story. I find the Syrian version to have more details on the fantasy side of things. The legends in this text seem to have more of the truth base then other common legends of Alexander.
