This isn't a book, audio- or otherwise, but everyone should listen to it anyway.

An incredibly stirring radio play, written by the masterful Norman Corwin and performed during the Golden Age, this piece of writing is a beautiful and sobering reminder of the "sons and brothers who turned to dust" for the sake of revealing to us lessons about sacrifice and collective well-being that we seem to have already forgotten.
