Finding a Place to Settle

Rate this book
Life is a journey. But this is not only in a geographical sense where some seem to travel much further than others! It also includes growing and shaping our character, sense of vocation and abilities. But where is it pointing us? The Bible describes a personal relationship with God as essential to life as He intended us to experience. However, such a 'faith journey' also means that we are finding out about ourselves. The intriguing Book of Ruth in the Old Testament describes this woman's journey, physically, emotionally and spiritually. As well as discovering God working in her life 'behind the scenes' she also finds her God-gifted identity... an awareness that is relevant and important to us. These chapters explore some of the ways in which God brought this affirmation into her life. Questions are provided to apply the lessons of Ruth to ourselves, making this material suitable for both individual reflection and small-group discussion.

Thanks for checking out my details!

It's only within the last couple of years that I've actually put material together in book form. Having worked in various government offices where I was tasked with writing reports / communications I suppose that the ability to string some words together (that made sense!) evolved from that role. Linked to my strong Christian faith it has been almost inevitable that various notes I'd prepared for church small-group discussion/teaching should be the springboard for what you now see.

I've tried to gear material for people like myself (and probably like you) who have no formal theological training, don't like long books (!), can't handle long words (!!), and have to live/work in a secular environment...and want to find God in all that goes on. I'm presently part of a lively Church of England church on outskirts of London and am taking up ongoing teaching/training/speaking roles.

Hope that this encourages you to look out for what I've been about to produce so far...if not you can always opt for John Ortberg or Max Lucardo (brilliantly innovative and inspired writers)
