Fade to White

Rate this book
Who are we, really? Are we shaped by our past, by our plans for tomorrow or by life as it happens to us? Are we a result of the lives our parents led or are we an amalgamation of all of it? This is a story of three people who are trying to figure just that. Three people whose life, as they know it, shatters after a traumatic event. Three people who are trying to find a new beginning - a beginning away from their darkness. Three people who want to fade to white.

Wow, now how do I start the review of a book which never tells you main character's names at all. Most of all you get are few nick names otherwise they are known as Writer, Consultant and Engineer and so on and so forth. Till I finished the book I took the meaning of the title that everyone wanted to disappear into nothingness and lose themselves into nothing. But in the end the writer tells us that Fade to White is achieving perfection and peace.

This is the story of three friends and it is like any other book but is different as well partly because the treatment is different due to the reason I gave you above and partly because the story is not all about love or college life it's little bit of everything.

It's about travel and it's about writing, it's about geniuses who can and will change future for the better and above all it's the story of intelligent people who take life as it is and despite hardships make their lives work.

People who don't read generally ask me my reasons for reading. Simply put I just love reading and so to that end I have made it my motto to just Keep on Reading. I love to read everything except for Self Help books but even those once in a while. I read almost all the genre but YA, Fantasy, Biographies are the most. My favorite series is, of course, Harry Potter but then there are many more books that I just adore. I have bookcases filled with books which are waiting to be read so can't stay and spend more time in this review, so remember I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and then just Keep on Reading.

While travelling through 263 pages of this book, i felt nostalgic and proud but most importantly i felt human because the author forces you to react differently at every single page. The author makes you realise that life is full of ups and downs and it is one's core values and line of thoughts that help them in the battle of life. The book is studded with scenarios where every reader explores his/her emotions.

It is truly astonishing how the author weaved travel diary entries, various character traits and basic understanding of life into one single book. I must agree it was one amazing book I have read in my immediate past. I would rather prefer the word journey than book, because the journey of these 3 people is something that engaged me through out.

The author manages to ensure the reader sits on the edge of the seat with her new unique narrative style for unfolding the journey of these 3 people. Gripping, exciting and intense. Looking forward for the next novel by the author.

This book gave me mixed feelings. I am somewhat confused whether I liked it or not. The parts I enjoyed the most are the journal entries of the writer. The jest and the sarcastic humour was really good. Of all three life stories of the protagonists, I liked the partner's story the most. Read full review at Natasha'z Words
