Fun pictograms and infographics about computer games make learning about math topics such as ratios, speed, distance, time, volume, percentages, and equations easy and fun. In this book, readers are presented with several computer game scenarios and must use their mathematical skills to solve equations to up their scores. Math puzzles and exercises help children build confidence in their math skills.
This book has great color and the text layout is extremely engaging. Each topic has a two-page spread with a basic rundown of that topic (ratio, etc) and some application of that topic that is related to computer games. This would be great if a student needed extra review of a topic or for extension if a student finished work early. Will not purchase for my library because 1) the topics were a bit young for my students - it hits upper elementary & early MS standards well, and 2) this is a book I don't think anyone would check out - it really belongs in a classroom, for instant student use. Overall, it is an outstanding addition to the usually boring 500s Math section of the nonfiction section. I just don't think it's right for my students.
