Boogie in the bathtub,
hula-hula dance,
rumba if you wanna
in your underpants.

What a fun and peppy book! The illustrations, though simplistic, are cheery, and eye-catching, and totally fit the mood of the book. I really loved the rhythm of this one, and I wish I had someone to read it aloud to . . .

Brightly colored illustrations mesh with the perky text in this book about dancing and body movement. Great for younger readers to inspire them to move and dance and be themselves.

I read this book with a dance storytime in mind because it promotes dancing. But I didn't like these kinds of illustrations. It was too jumbled and too many patterns. And while I think they were trying to be funny, I didn't find it to be so. If someone wanted this book for a program of any kind I would make sure they were mindful of their audience when it came to the underwear and skeleton references.

My only connection with this book is it promotes dancing. All kinds. But I'm not a fun of this kind of illustration. It's a bit loud for me. And we're they were trying to be funny, I did not find it to be so. However, this might be an interesting storytime read. Just be mindful of your audience for one particular reference.

Cute little book, loved the illustrations. The words have sort of a musical quality to them. Maybe for the second read you could dance to the words.

In this book we can read many rhymes. We see rhymes about dancing and sounds. We see the book go into all kind of things like activities, animals, or nursery rhymes showing how all of them have a distinct sound/rhythm and how you can move with it. The major themes in this book I would have to say is dance, music, and culture. You can't have dance without music and in the book we can see the rhymes and how they try to show everything has a dance with it. The traveled through things from American Football to Rumba, so it explores culture which is a good thing for kids who might not have seen or heard these things before. It could spark interest. I would recommend this book for because I think music is important, any aspect of it from a dancing form to an instrument form, and kids really love things like that. It's a book to have fun with.

This is a great book for young readers. The fun geometrically shaped, colorful illustrations by Pat Dypold, make you want to tap your toes and wiggle your buns! Tongue twisting rhymes will be a fun read for kids and parents.

We loved this book! My 5 year old grandsons were so tickled to find the word “underpants,” a word discouraged by their mother in polite conversation! The colors and the rhythms were wonderful.
