Lacking confidence in your decision-making abilities? This book will help you achieve a high level of confidence to make faster and more effective practical decisions for your school.
This 1997 book is still being assigned in doctoral programs, hence my reading it. The actual examples (“structuring devices”) are useful and numerous, but the functionality of the book is severely limiting any potential usefulness. And for $70, the 300-page book comes looseleaf without even holes punched into it for a binder.
If this title ever gets a new edition, it desperately need to have an index added. The table of contents is insufficient. An index would allow the reader to find activities crosslisted by type of group, conflict, etc.
The way it is currently organized you need to read the chapter on how the structuring devices are organized, and then flip through hundreds of activities alphabetically by name. And they are named arbitrarily, not informatively or what they seem, and they are NOT organized by categories, time needed, supplies needed, and other such useful categories and limiters.
