I cannot recommend this book for self-study.

It covers a vast amount of topics (set theory, group theory, field theory, galois theory, ring theory and classical ideal theory) in a concise manner (~195 pages). If you are not a student of mathematics and are looking to self-study abstract algebra, there are significantly better options to consider.

For most topics, little intuition is given with sparse examples. This book is likely better suited for those reviewing these topics.

The textbook contains numerous exercises, all without solution. That's disappointing because many are interesting.
