I was reading some reviews in Amazon and the main complaint was the size of the book - screenshots were too small. Well, to me the size of the book was actually a plus - I brought this book along on my morning train commutes and it worked well.

Having had *some* experience in writing SQL code and working with SQL Server, much of the book was relevant and applicable. So I'm thinking it's probably most suitable for an advanced beginner or a beginning intermediate. I'm not sure if an absolute beginner would find it suitable, or if anyone beyond "intermediate" would either - the beginner would find many of the concepts difficult to understand without appropriate context, and the advanced user would find all the examples too basic.

Overall a good read, and the size was (for me at least) a big plus point.
