An accident. A coma. Another woman stealing her husband’s heart.

A heart attack. A hospital. More pain.

Another man is about to step into Livvy’s life to help her through the torments she’s experiencing. Will she lean on him and forget everything she’s worked so hard to get back?

Review by Jen Hagen

I read for pure enjoyment. Sometimes the stories are a little out there where I know that if this were to happen in real life I would lose interest, but put it in a book and I’m lost to the world living in my little fictional bubble. This is a continuation of The Pull, where there was an ending that was questionable. This was a quick read, and just like its predecessor I knew it was just a story and not to get upset with it.
I’m not a huge fan of cookie cutter or insta-love romances, so I have enjoyed these not-your-typical love stories…if in fact they can even be classified as a love story.

Livvy is dealing will all kinds of emotions right now. She awoke from a lengthy coma to find the love of her life had moved on, she fought for his love and won, and now they have had a couple happy years together and are anticipating the birth of their son. Livvy find herself once again fighting for her happiness. Strength and comfort comes from the unlikeliest of people and both of them know they should not cross these lines.

I was spiraling down a hole I didn’t know how to find my way out of, and I was struggling, my fingernails clawing at dirt to try to keep myself from plummeting the whole way to the bottom. Something told me I was going to hit, though – hit hard.

I can already hear some of you not liking Livvy. I don’t necessarily approve of what she is doing, but I certainly can’t judge her as I have not had to be in her shoes. She is hurting and she is finding comfort – or at least what she thinks is comfort. I think it’s just a replacement and it was never meant to go any further. Livvy is in unchartered territory not knowing if she will ever be happy again. Would I grab onto something so slight in the hopes that my days would be brighter and the pain lessened?? Absoloutely. The only thing is, more than one person stands to be hurt from this.

“Don’t you see, Liv? We have to think about others. Others are involved here.”

As much as I should, I really can’t find fault in Livvy. This read was very emotional and the writer did an excellent job pulling out the pain one would feel in this situation.

I love this author and her unique writing style.

Once I picked up this book I could not put it down. Sara V Zook has done a outstanding job once again. The Push picks up right where The Pull left off. Sara left most of us with our mouths hanging open at the end of The Pull. We wanted and asked for more and we got it. This is a very emotional read and tissue will be a necessity. (at least it was for me).

This story will not be for everyone, but I like variety. I go into each story with an open mind so this was a perfect read for me. Do I want more? YES!

What the fuck!? I am giving this book 1 stars simply because:
-I felt the ending was not really an ending and there's no indication that there's going to be a third novel
- Livvy and Shane becoming a thing or not becoming a thing after Darrin dying
- Darin dying all together, why?
- There's no HEA and I'm a sucker for HEA

I should have stopped at The Pull and just be done with it. 1 star because I liked the writing style.

The sequel needs a sequel! Since this was marketed as a “romance” it should have had a HEA or at the least a HFN, didn’t happen. So the poor woman that woke up from a 7 year coma, ends up a widow while she’s 5 months pregnant, what?? Enter the BIL as a new love interest—even though it’s much too soon, and in the end he leaves too, what??

This feels like there was supposed to be a book 3 that never happened, oh well.

Hated the ending of the first. The new relationship moved to fast for this book. Her husband wasn't even that gone yet before she started having feelings for the brother.....

The Push is a sequel to The Pull. I loved both books! Ms Zook pulled me in from the beginning of The Pull and never let my attention go. In fact, I’m still wanting to know more about Livvy. Scratch that I NEED to know more about LIvvy.

The Push is a great addition to The Pull and does give some closure and explanations for the ending of the first book. However I felt like The Push also ended with a cliffhanger. I’m hoping there will be a third book about these amazing characters. I fell in love with Livvy and Darin in the first book. Livvy is a strong woman and in this second book her strength is put to the test. We get to know more about Darin’s family in this installment. I liked getting a glimpse into his world through getting to know his mom, dad, and brother. Shane is Darin’s brother and in this book he confused me a lot. He seemed to be fickle about his feelings and didn’t always own up to them. I did like him most of the time but sometimes he is just a douche. I will say that some of LIvvy’s actions were not always well received by me but you you never know what you would do if you were in her situation\.

Both of these books had me crying all of the time while I was reading them. I do love a good ugly cry story and both of these books fit the bill. I love the connection that Ms Zook creates to her characters. She has left me wanting to know more about Livvy, Shane, and Gwen. I feel like there is still so much more to this story and I’m hoping that there will be a third book. I cannot wait to read more from this author! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a unconventional love story that doesn’t always have an HEA.

For those of you who have read The Pull, I am sure you will completely understand when at the end, I screamed WTF!!! You can't leave me this way! Thankfully for me, the wait was not long and I was able to dive right in to The Push. How much heartache can one person handle? How many tests must they try to pass? For Livvy unfortunately, she has had to deal with more than most could ever imagine. Just when she thought she got back everything she thought she had lost while in a coma for 7 years, life decides to throw another HUGE curveball her way. Like the first book, this was an extremely emotional read that kept me invested the whole time.

Sara does it again!!!!

If you haven't read The Pull yet, get it. The Push is more heart wrenching. But still a beautiful story of love. Just when Liv's life is going perfect, another tragedy happens. Can she get through it or will this be it??

Today’s coffee was served with the book "The Push" by Sara V. Zook which is an emotionally charged continuation of the story that began in "The Pull." Livvy Thorne, the protagonist, has endured a series of hardships, including an accident, a coma, and the heartbreak of her husband Darin being stolen away by another woman. Now, with Violet out of the picture, Livvy hopes to rebuild her marriage and eagerly awaits the arrival of their newborn son.

However, fate has other plans for Livvy. A heart attack..! Her struggles never seem to end! During these trying times, she finds solace in the presence of another man who offers her support throughout her challenges. The question arises: Will Livvy lean on this new person and forsake everything she fought so hard to regain?

In "The Push," Zook skillfully delves into Livvy's tumultuous emotional state, capturing the pain, uncertainty, and longing she experiences. The author effectively portrays Livvy's desperation and the choices she makes in the midst of her turmoil, even if they are morally questionable. While readers may not approve of Livvy's actions, it is difficult to pass judgment without having walked in her shoes.

Zook's writing immerses the reader in Livvy's world, eliciting strong emotions and empathy. The book tackles themes of love, loss, and the complexities of human relationships. It offers a realistic portrayal of the conflicts and inner battles faced by individuals in desperate circumstances. The author's ability to evoke such raw emotions is commendable, making the story feel authentic and relatable.

Overall, "The Push" is a quick and emotionally charged read that stays true to its predecessor's tone. Zook effectively captures the pain and struggles of her characters, making the reader feel deeply connected to their journey.

Needs something

It left with an unfinished feel like it was a cliffhanger. I checked the next books written and there are no more.

The Pull was a very different read for me and I find myself having to think out of the box in how I want to go about my review. I’m a romance novel girl through and through but really that’s not exactly what this book is. So I’m trying to review it without my romance colored glasses on.

From the synopsis and from viewing a Facebook takeover with Sara I went into this book expecting one thing and got something completely different. I was pretty much expecting a romantic comedy but what I got was a book about drama and emotion.

I read this book in one day. At first I was so confused as to who to like, who to hate, who to root for, and who to villainize. I found myself condemning a character at one point and then trying to sympathize with them by the next page.

I, like Darin, couldn’t make up my mind and couldn’t keep my head straight on whether I wanted Livvy to win Darin back or for her to pick herself up and move on. Livvy is easily likable and your heart breaks for her situation. Imagine thinking you were asleep for one night to wake up and find it’s been seven years and life has completely moved on without you.

Violet isn’t a character I would like under normal circumstances but this plot is anything but normal… Would I make bad decisions if faced with her situation? Who the hell knows! Vi is more difficult to understand. While reading I had many different thoughts about her… Is she just a gold digger? Does she mean well in her intentions? Is this just a really crazy situation she’s in the middle of? In the end I guess that’s up to each reader.

Darin is in between a rock and a hard place. He’s now living with his wife who he believes to have been basically dead and his fiancé who helped him pick up the pieces of the mess of losing his wife. I understand he feels indebted to Vi and I also understand him trying to shut out the feelings for Livvy because he’s scared after what losing her once did to him. I do wish he was slightly less easily convinced by the promise of sex though. Darin would finally make a decision about something and his mind was easily swayed by the promise of a night at a hotel or sexy lingerie. He is a man though so maybe Sara got the mentality right. LOL

The Pull kept me sucked in. I had to find out what would happen next and how I would feel and who I would be pulling for in the coming chapter. In complete honesty, The Pull probably wouldn’t have been something I would have read if I hadn’t fallen in love with Sara during her takeover and while I may want to strangle her for the ending and bursting the bubble of my perfect romance world I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Pull. The Push is next on my list so I can find out where the story takes me next!

Boy did Sara leave us with a cliffhanger at the end of The Pull. I could not wait to get my hands on this one! And now I'd love to get my hands on Sara! I think I am still in shock, this book was great. I love being surprised and The Push has done that, more than I'd like to admit...Sara is a remarkable author with an evil mind. I loved how this book just picked up right away, it flowed from page to page, and I felt like I was standing outside a window watching a train wreck. I had so many feelings wash over me, I was confused, shocked, hopeful, devastated...this girl knows how to reel you in and then drown you! I loved every single word. This story has been a breath of fresh air, even though I barely breathed while reading it. I don't want to give anything away, just know if you are looking for something different, something plotted by the devil herself then this is it! Just keep an open mind and remember it's FICTION! Pick up The Pull first and enjoy being tormented, happy, and maybe even a little hateful ;)

I'm glad there is a sequel to The Push. After that ending, I felt like the story was incomplete. This time it's Livvy who is dealing with all the turmoil of her life turning upside down. After everything she has been through, the bottom is ripped out from under her.

Unable to lean on Darin anymore, Livvy turns to the next closest male and he's a character whom I loved. He is similar to Darin in some ways, but also completely different, but the familiarity offers comfort. I can't say that I have experienced what Livvy has been through, because quite honestly, she surprised me with her behavior, it wasn't what I expected. However, Livvy is unapologetic about herself and I do admire her honesty in that way.

I was under the impression that the story was going to lean a certain way, but part of me is relieved that it didn't. If this is the end of her story, I would be okay with it, but I am definitely hoping that maybe there can be more later.

Be careful what you wish you. That is the saying, right? In my review for The Pull, book 1, I wrote the following:

I hope we get a book 2 someday with the ending we want, we need, but nevertheless, Sara Zook gave us a story that will captivate. Even as it breaks your heart.

Well she gave us the sequel in The Push. It was not exactly what I asked for, but the feels. Sara V. Zook knows how to make her reader feel.

I could not put this book down.I read it in a day. I want to tell you all about it, but I just can't. You have to experience it on your own. I can say it picks up right where it left off. Livvy is scared. She and Darin have been through so much and just wants the future they dreamed off. Will they get it?

You need to experience this story. Its emotional, but so worth the time.

Happy reading!

I enjoyed The Push a lot more than I did The Pull. I think it's because I already knew the characters so I didn't need the time to try to connect with them.

The Push continues directly from where The Pull left us. The story line held my attention and there was always something happening, but it wasn't over the top.

I won't give anything away as it is a short book, but if you've read The Pull, you definitely need to read this and continue the story.

As with the Pull, The Push is left open for another installment. And while it's not a full on cliffhanger, there is definitely more of this story to be told.

I look forward to reading what's to come.

Great Read

This was a very fast paced read. I read it in a few hours. I am not sure how many books will be in this series. However, this one does end in a cliffhanger. So now I am going to have to wait patiently for the next book. I was very surprised of the beginning and outcome of this book. I didn't see it happening this way. It was a good surprise for the ending. Now the beginning was a different story..I am still shocked. Great read and I do recommend The Push. I can't wait for MORE!!
