In todays global capitalistic economy all the jobs that are not being done more intelligently, more efficiently and more productively are being sent overseas to the third world; where, the most highly paid technically trained professionals are earning as little as two U.S. Dollars per day. This incredibly low daily wage is for jobs that “Americans’” did at one time. In short, businesses will get their work done in areas that have workers that will deliver the most bang for the buck. This means that if you don’t learn new skills, the foreigners will “eat your lunch...”
In other words, your job now is to become a smarter, more efficient and more productive worker; where, you can justify to the business owners and managers that you are the best “bang for the buck” in the global workforce.
Therefore, the major reason why you should learn this subject matter should be to apply the knowledge to working smarter, more efficiently and more productively in your current job. This knowledge will also allow you to understanding what is possible for computers to do. It may also lead to you being able to get an even higher paying job.
