'Beauty/Beast' is the debut novel of Ingrid Grimm. This erotic fairytale explores the magic and sensuality of a story that is both familiar and strikingly new. Follow Beauty as she explores the palatial prison of the Beast's home. Amongst the wonders, she learns a life of magic and forbidden sensuality. This story is not for the prudish, but lovers of controversial and poetic erotica will be delighted.
I found this book on Amazon while searching for Beauty and the Beast romances as I'm always a sucker for adult versions of fairytales. I certainly wasn't disappointed - this was definitely adult.
I would start by saying that this is not a book for the prudish - it's called an Erotic fairytale for a reason. There was definitely a lot of "bang" for your buck (excuse the pun) as there were a number of different sex scenes. I particularly liked the fact that the scenes are linked together with a cohesive story, unlike a lot of erotic fiction you read which are just a series of smutty scenarios.
The character of Beauty is interesting, as she is shown to be innocent and kind, but is not afraid of her growing sexuality. In fact, she encourages it, which I thought was an interesting way to show her.
The romance between Beauty and the Beast is subtle (they don't have a real love scene until the very end of the book) but this is quite true to the original fairytale where Beauty doesn't realise she has feelings for the beast until the very end.
I enjoyed the fantasy elements of the plot. This isn't just your BATB romance where the man is slightly grumpy and isolated but the author really went for the fairytale elements, with enchanted objects that come to life.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would happily read it again. It is definitely more erotic fiction, than a romance with a hint of erotica, but that wasn't a problem for me. I'd definitely be interested in reading any other fairytale stories by the same author.
Absolutely loved this! It's full of sex and magic. Belle is given the freedom to explore the Beast's chateau and she really enjoys her independence. She doesn't seem helpless, she seems intelligent and driven. The sex is crazily hot! It got me into reading Ingrid Grimm.
Really good book. I've never read the original Beauty and the Beast so have no idea how close to it this was but I was happily surprised. I like the author's spin on magic, the characters are complex and I was drawn in almost forgetting I was reading and felt more like I was watching the events unfold. The sex was descriptive in a good way, very hot and fit into the story well. It wasn't sporadic. The perfect balance of sex and story. I hope to see more from this author. She made the story flow.
