I'm not so sure about some of the information about "breaking up". for most physically abusive relationships leaving is the most dangerous time for the victim and the logistics need to be planned very carefully. It's best to have the help of someone who is an expert in domestic abuse and calling the domestic abuse hotline away from your abuser / where they won't know you have made the call is a good place to find such a person.
