This book was a joy to read. Inspiration at a time when it’s sorely needed. Going to follow his advice “Bow deeply to the mystery and the beauty inside and all around you. Be here now. If you don’t like the news , go out and make some of your own.

I enjoy hearing Wes speaking and teaching. I'd rather gather the information in this book in person.

I had never heard of Wes Nisker before reading this book, but it seems he has and continues to live an interesting and colourful life out on the West Coast. This is a collection of short pieces, some culled from radio pieces he did over the years, others magazine articles he has published and a few excerpts from books he had published. Wes plays the role of the wise fool in his writing, he is a genuinely funny guy but is also full on insight and wisdom. I particularly admired his love for science and nature and how he was able to tie that real knowledge into Buddhist thought, how important both are for understanding and self-awareness. This is an easy read but full of great insights. I would highly recommend.

This book is a collection of essays on unusual topics written as private monologues (sometimes dialogues) by a hilariously funny and painfully wise author.
