Not helpful at all

While the book starts strong, with good explanations around consent and safety, when it comes to techniques, the lack of images and the very convoluted explanations make this book absolute worthless for anyone interested in getting started with Shibari. Even people with some experience will find the instructions confusing and useless.

No pictures

Worthless to describe types of ropes material, knot techniques, etc without any pictures.

Also doesn't cover any safety equipment or basic anatomy to avoid (I.e. Over/behind joints, nerves...)

A general introduction to artistic rope bondage (Shibari) for the curious. As other reviewers have said, it could use drawings, pictures, etc. to clarify roping techniques, knots, suspension, etc. There were some useful tips on pros and cons of different kinds of rope.

Basic Overview

This is a clearly-written book and a fast read, which touches upon the basics of Japanese erotic bondage. There really aren't any personal illustrations or anecdotes related in this book. Visually it's very unappealing.

No pictures.....really?

How do you write a book about rope bondage and include pictures of examples of how to tie or utilize said rope?
