This is a nice book written by Preston and Prescott. This was short and sweet, the author was up to the point in explaining all the basic concepts of SQL. This helped me to brush up my knowledge on SQL.

Short, full of errors and misleading. Only SQL server dialect is considered by the way. If you want to quickly became familiar with SQL language - pick some good interactive or video tutorial online instead. If your goal is a proficient SQL knowledge - good-old-well-known-tomes are the best choice.
