Blame It On The Snow

Rate this book
When the snowstorm of the decade grinds Atlanta to a halt, it traps three young women in situations that could lead to heartbreak instead of frostbite.
Katherine Sutton must choose between freezing by the side of the road and taking shelter in a former lover’s home. When she sees the changes Charlie McAndrew has made to his life, she wonders what woman could have gotten this perpetual Peter Pan to finally grow up.
Emma Lawrence, attorney-at-law, is snowed in at work with only her hunky paralegal for company. She’s spent many billable hours lusting after Jonas King, even though office policy and a secret past keep her from acting on her atop-the-desk fantasies. When Emma finally lets her heart overrule her head, she finds herself with more than water cooler gossip to worry about.
Rhyan Kilpatrick reluctantly offers shelter to her best-friend’s younger brother, the A-list celebrity Ethan Sutton. The last thing she wants is to be snowed in with the well-known party boy, even if he is panty-melting hot. But when Rhyan sees beneath the superficial role he plays to the hilt, she wishes for more than one snowy night together.
Is it love that pushes these three women to take risks? Or can they blame it on the snow?

Blame It On The Snow is a sweet book that is really like a collection of 3 novellas, each of the 3 friends getting their own story, with the final chapter wrapping it all together. These tales has just enough drama, heat, and sweetness...a nice, easy read.
It's takes place in Atlanta in 2014 when they got that snowstorm that pretty much crippled the city! The first story is Katherine's, and I had to laugh because she gets snowbound until her ex rescuse her. I was snowbound in 2010 and man, what I would have done to have a Charlie of my own to rescue me! Theirs is a story of second chances and probably my favorite of the three. For such a quick easy read I found myself completely falling for Charlie! "The boy you knew never deserved you."
Next we have Emma and Jonas, snowed in at work together, with Emma trying to fight her attraction and do the right thing as Jonas' superior. Emma has been hiding so much of herself, from everyone, she's afraid to let anyone see the real person behind the suits and frosty exterior. Little does she know that Jonas is hiding a secret himself. She just needs to realize she can trust him. (This chapter did have some editing errors that distracted me a bit, it almost seemed like I was reading a separate book as it didn't flow as easily as the first chapter.)
The 3rd and final story is Rhyan's and Ethan's. Rhyan is Katherine's best friend and roommate, Ethan is Katherine's younger brother. He's an actor now and shows up the day of the storm and admits to Rhyan he's had a crush on her for years. It takes them a little time for both to realize the feelings they have for each other. I love an older woman/younger man story, and this was a perfect little taste!

Great story and reminds me that Atlanta is due for another snow storm. Let's see if more romance can be kindled this time around. If it does, we can "Blame it on the Snow"
