A Book of Poetry Written by a Teenage Girl

Rate this book
This is a collection of poems written by a teenage girl. It describes the feelings of love, sadness, confusion, and every other emotion you can imagine a normal teenage girl to experience. This teenage girl was faced with a combination of life altering events. At twelve years old, her mother was diagnosed with MS, and lost her eye sight. Her mother would go on not only to fight this disease, but she also had a heart attack when she was nineteen years old. She would later be diagnosed with heart failure, and when they did a heart catherization they found out that she had a 100% blockage in her front LAD artery. Her mom is still living today, but it is a struggle every day.
At fifteen years old, her father was diagnosed with a terminal illness. He went through a ten year sickness, and was only expected to live for six months. He was very sick, and she never left his side no matter how scared she was. He later passed when she was just twenty three years old.
At twenty five years old tragedy stuck yet again. She got pregnant with a child. She was almost eleven weeks pregnant when she got the horrible news. Her baby had grown to be the size that it should have been, but the heart had just stopped beating. She thought she would never make it through all of these things. It was her love of writing and reading that helped her do just that. Poetry was an outlet that helped her get her feelings out, and quite frankly I believe it was one of the things that saved her life.

This is an eye-opening read. It will take you on an emotional journey of a young girl having to deal with way more than she should. If you have dealt with similar issues, grab the tissue. If you need to deal with similar issues, grab this book. It will help you.
