I began my career as a small-town radio announcer after high school. That experience led to a television and documentary film career. I worked as a residential childcare worker for delinquent boys, taught speech and theater, computer technology and programming, color photography and technical writing as a college teacher. I owned one of the first computer stores in the country, was a co-founder of an Internet service provider in the 1990’s (US Internet -- USIT), and several other businesses in the 2000’s. I served as a technical writer for national magazines, including PC, Popular Electronics, and Digital News. I published some 60 technical books and produced 30 video training courses about computer technology.
My BA degree is in English and Spanish and my MA is in Documentary Film.

Generally speaking, Course Technology was, historically for me, hit or miss with meeting the mark for technology training. The author’s perspective and experience mattered and was often saddled by the cookie-cutter fixed approach they employed. This book was on the mark and was very useful. I used it for multiple semesters when I taught.
