Two young men, one American, one German, are enmeshed in the deadly battles in the air above Europe during World War II. Born at the same time, but having experienced vastly different upbringings, fate will bring them together. The course of the war is changing and the fellows are directly affected. Both sides adopt new strategies, new equipment, and new threats abound. What will happen? Who will win? Who will live? Who will die? It’s a gripping tale of courage, skill, and destiny. Make sure your parachute straps are securely fastened and come along for the ride!
This series follows 2 pilots, German and American. This gives interesting perspectives on the same events.
Unfortunately it has been “dummed down”. After each mission the kill/damage reports are given for each side. But in reality neither side had accurate reports, and both were wildly optimistic about their successes. Each side knew its own losses but overestimated enemy losses. In other words, much of the “fog of war” is removed.
I have read all the books of this series and have yet to be disappointed. The Author has hit a home run with his efforts. I will have to wait for the next installment. Hopefully it will not be long. Highly recommend this entire series to anyone. I will warn that the endings are left open. But it’s an excellent read.
Another great story of combat during World war Two. Roger Maxim uses fact and fiction together to weave a great novel. Characters are realistic, action is thrilling and facts when used are correct.
