Okay, in part one we were introduced to Peter, Julie, General Applegate and all the various other main players. The basic premise for the story was laid out and ensured that I could not wait to read part two. Part two was the training and the suspense began to build whilst we also learned much more about the main characters. The cliffhanger at the end ensured that I was eager to find out what had happened. I was not disappointed! Thee are plenty of developments and sub plots to keep things moving and the attention to detail is nothing short of excellent. Book three takes place entirely in 1942 San Francisco where things move at a breathtaking pace - goodness only knows what part four will be like when they get to France! Needless to say I'm going to download part four as soon as possible to find out.

I won this book through a Goodreads giveaway and, having no prior experience with the first two books, I thought I'd the third one as a stand-alone (some books in a series aren't always interconnected!). This book is NOT like that - I should definitely read books 1 and 2 before re-reading book 3; I have no idea what's going on, but am definitely intrigued! Will highly consider obtaining books 1 & 2 so I can get the must-be-fascinating background to book 3!

Peter, Julie and the doctors have made it the past only to be confronted with a traitor in their midst who works for a secret organization intent on stopping time travel at all costs. Can Peter and Julie complete their mission, can the doctors fix the time machine and keep it working, will our hero's be trapped in the past and what will have changed in their own time if they do make it back? I can't wait to read Linear Shift part 4 to find out.

Linear Shift Part 3 is the transitional bridge from a thrilling Part 2, and the expected excitement of Part 4. But…Part 3 is creative and smart, laced with fun. With wonderful characters and beautiful twists, it prolongs the suspense, leaving the reader with more questions than answers. Yes, you will need to rethink the pennies.

I won this novel in a goodreads drawing.

It's a time travel novel that didn't give me a headache. In 1942, a scientist is trying to find a way to time travel, despite being continually sabotaged by his assistant. A group of people from the present materialize in the machine, and convince the scientist to help them. Meanwhile, a secret society is doing everything they can stop the futurians. Every member of the futurians also have their own agenda while in the past, and also have to respond to events.

Quite interesting, if a bit low key.

Third book out of four. Okay, at least they've gone back in time, but still not to their destination. I guess I'll finish the series with this much invested, but not sure it will have been worth it.
