Love Shari’s input on business, spirituality, spiritual enlightenment and doing good through influencing and leading.

This book suggests great reminders for leaders, entrepreneurs, business owners, and all people, really. I enjoyed going on this journey with Shari and I’m glad I stumbled upon this book.

This read felt good, it’s reminded me of important principles and values I hold, yet it wasn’t super practical. Mainly talked about the values themselves, not much about putting them to action.

This book’s subtitle “activate your goodness in business” might be viewed as a swearword in many boardrooms, yet it doesn’t need to be bad. Doing “the right thing” can inspire positive change in a company, leading to even greater things as well as possibly helping others at the same time. It must, however, come from the heart and not just be a tactic on a strategy plan.

This book aims to show business owners how they can “do good” and help on many levels, acting as a call to action as well as providing practical help and assistance towards this goal. Many examples of companies “doing good” are given in a narrative form, so you can see that you may still be a pioneer but not exactly treading into unknown territory.

This is one of those books that you will or won’t form a direct connection to. This reviewer didn’t and couldn’t warm to it; not that it is bad - it is just that it didn’t inspire or set this reader alight with enthusiasm. It was a bit too easy to tune in and out, skipping here and there, yet whilst one wasn’t sold on the idea of “doing good” through this book, it was possible to pick up some good general information and knowledge along the way. The book is reasonably priced so not all is bad and, of course, if you do perceive a need for this kind of book and manage to establish that connection you will be getting a great deal.

The author does take an important subject and seeks to bring this message to a wider audience, so praise must be given. It just didn’t entirely work for this reviewer but it didn’t turn him off the idea either, so all is not lost.
