This book was horrible. If i hadn't had to read this book for a challenge, I wouldn't have finished it. There were absolutely no likeable characters in this book. Even the main characters were at best annoying and at worst, more than a little disturbing. The book tells the story of a man who has cme back to his hometown after being dishonourably discharged from the armed forces to continue his family's moonshine business. The town is in slow decline due to a major meth amphetamine problem and after he saves the life of his ex-wife's sister, he realises just how bad the problems are and takes steps to keep the people he loves safe.

This book is quite full of disturbing content and situations and characters making morally ambiguous choices in the name of love and protection.

This book left me feeling icky and disturbed and i really did not like it at all.
