Logan Dodge and his family are enjoying a spring break kayaking trip in the Florida Keys. Camping on the beach, living on freshly caught seafood, and soaking in some of the most breathtaking scenery on Earth. But while they’re relishing the trip of a lifetime, there’s trouble a-brewin’ back home in Key West.
Upon learning that one of their closest friends and the sitting mayor of Key West has suddenly closed down his popular island restaurant, Logan and his family cut their trip short. They do everything they can to help re-open the place, but quickly discover that the man responsible for its closing is just getting started.
Never one to back down from a fight, Logan goes head-to-head with a rich, powerful businessman who's hell-bent on demolishing and transforming major sections of Old Town Key West. The former Navy SEAL and his island family quickly learn that the vile tycoon will go to any lengths to make his vision a reality. Even if it means fighting dirty. Even if it means taking a life or two along the way.

Loved it. Did not disappoint. A lot of excitement and tension. I've learned to expect the unexpected. Characters are expendable, even favorites. I held my breath. A must read.
Each book in the series features well-loved characters, lots of adventure and excitement and I get to revisit a favorite destination. Another winner from Matthew Rief!
This Story grabs you from the beginning to the breathtaking end! Characters you've come to love involved in an ongoing and disturbing drama! Grab your favorite drink and settle in. You won't be disappointed !
Logan & his family are taking some time off kayaking around the keys. Stopping in out of the way nooks for lunch, diving & more fun in the sun.
Near the end of their trip, friend Jack arrives to let them know their friend restaurant owner Pete has shut down the place with no real explanation. Jack thinks there's trouble and Pete will only listen to Logan.
They quickly head back & find the restaurant closed for various "infringement" so obscure that everyone knows it's bogus. Logan & friends get the word out, and Pete has reopened within days but that's not the end of the harassment. A super rich businessman has been buying up properties all over Key West, quietly forcing people out under duress but Pete refuses to sell. As things escalate, Logan brings justice the way he knows how in order to save not only Pete's place but old Key West itself.
The Dodge adventures are always fast reads and entertaining.
Each story in this 24 book saga challenges Logan with a new variation of a bad guy we want to lose. It is always a fun read to see him and his little band of friends face the nasties and with grit get through. Having traveled to Key West, it is fun to read of places we have actually seen. The stories become even more fun as we visualise walking around in Logan's world.
Great action story very well written and keeping your attention the whole time. Another outstanding book by Matthew Rife the books for it makes you wanna go down to the southern part of Florida to see the Florida Keys. I’ve been to Key West and everything in the book sounds familiar. Can’t wait for the next book.
I gave this 4 1/2 ⭐️because I thought it was a bit slow reading. I just started reading this author and have read a couple of the books in this series. I do enjoy his books because I’m right there in the life of his characters. Even though I haven’t read all of this series Matthew has done an excellent job of each characters background. I thought this was a great adventure of Logan, Ange and how they come to protect their friends and the lifestyle of Key West. It was worth the read.
While I enjoy reading the Logan Dodge series, I have a very difficult time believing he is only 35 as stated in this book. Gold in the Keys, references Eight years in Naval Special Ops and five years as a gun for hire. Assuming Logan graduated from high school at 18 and did not attend college, he would be 31 at when Angelina entered into the storyline.
I have thoroughly enjoyed every book of this series. I hope Matthew Rief continues it. Adventure, history, intrigue and great characters, what's not to like.
Exciting, thrilling, mysterious, electric and e lightning about the Keys. As always you can't put it down once you start reading. Thank you Matthew for all your work. Enjoyed all so far.!! Kept it up..
Well I did it completed 1-24 and couldn’t stop the series. What kept me was the reminder of trips to the keys. The old days were the best. Kudos to Mathew for memories of music, reefs, and fishing.
