The Seventh Holy Man

Rate this book
The Vatican has been overrun, and many people have been murdered by Swiss Guards in St. Peter's Square . Attempting to understand the cause of this unbelievable event, Sean Carrol, an investigative reporter for the New York International News, undertakes the responsibility of investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragedy.
He is challenged as he attempts to understand the link between the ancient kingdom of Malar and the current-day events taking place in the Vatican. As the hierarchy within the Vatican takes extreme steps to complete a plan of secularizing the Catholic Church, many  strange occurrences arise . Sean is perplexed as he attempts to secure clues that will answer the additional unexplained questions that have emerged during his investigation.
The involvement of some high-ranking officials within the Vatican  raises more suspicion  about the seriousness of the activities taking place within the church. Several deaths have been attributed to the progress of Sean Carrol's investigation and the potential threats to those in the Vatican hierarchy.
With the potential destruction of the Catholic Church at hand , there must be a revival of the seven holy men who represent the Seven Spirits of God. They provide the only means of protecting the church. In reality, even with their intervention,  there is no guarantee that the church will be preserved.

For the last 30 years William Brazzel has dreamed of writing a science fiction novel; something different but entertaining. Unfortunately, time was his enemy. Raising a family and running a full time business provided no time for self indulgence such as writing. Finally, facing retirement, William was able to create his first novel, "The Seventh Holy Man." He believes that all science fiction and non-science fiction readers will thoroughly enjoy this first novel. Currently, William is researching and writing his next novel which promises to be truly engaging and different. As he describes his goal, my main reason for writing is to entertain my readers.

The fate of the Catholic Church is at stake. Swiss Guards, cardinals, bishops, priests, and leaders from governments around the world have been possessed by demons. A mysterious civilization called Malars has worshipped Belial. During the Roman conquest, their officers were possessed by these people in the Po River Valley in Italy. Sean Carrol, reporter for the New York International News, and Wayne Deeter, senior cameraman, travels to Rome to investigate the murders of priests and professors.

The Priests for Christ are trying to stop Belial, otherwise known as the Antichrist and his followers. They are not just trying to overtake the Vatican, but the whole world. Pope Christian I is in danger, and Sean meets with him to try stopping the bloodshed that looks like it is coming. Mysterious civilizations, secret organizations, and possessed people all to the culmination of a war between good and evil.

Great story idea, terrible execution, it was painful to read. The author seemed to be writing this book as if he was making notes in his personal diary or if writing out a statement for a police report. The story did not flow well, the conversations between characters were stilted and unrealistic and the description of events and people was basic and had nothing to do with the story. It was as if someone used a poor translation program to translate the story from a foreign language to English. The story line was shallow and not well developed despite it being the whole reason the main character was in Italy to begin with and unbelievable as was the ending which completely defied explanation and ended so abruptly. I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.

The Seventh Holy Man is an intense story, following Sean Carrol, an investigative reporter, who is investigating major problems within the Vatican. There has been violence, and rumors of satanic worship within the Vatican, and Carrol contacts a priest who has some information on what is going on. After the priest is found dead, Carrol realizes that he must follow the few leads he has in order to find out what is truly happening. The story is a quick read, and has a lot of intriguing twists, which made it entertaining. I liked the author’s dark take on the secrets and in fighting of the church, it made for an interesting story.
