What would Henry VIII, Elizabeth 1st, Richard III or King Arthur be like if they lived today? Questions like these inspire Olivia Hayfield's modern-day retellings of historical tales.

Olivia is in fact like her characters – a reimagined version of the truth. Olivia Hayfield is the pseudonym of author and editor Sue Copsey. Olivia is more glamorous and fair bit younger than children's writer Sue, and her behaviour is far worse.

Sue has two children and a husband; Olivia probably has lovers and a pedigree cat.
Olivia spends most of her time in London, while Sue is usually in Auckland, New Zealand.

[tw - Cheating]

I read the blurb so i knew going in that she'd be chained to him and he's a groom, idk what i was expecting but it sure as hell wasn't this. So, we have H on his stag party, he's drunk and his friends cling wrap him to a tree in a cemetery and h ends up getting cuffed along with him by his idiot friends.

h is working at her aunt's flower shop. Right from the start she goes on and on about how cheating is bad and how it ruined her. She reveals to him that she's heartbroken over her engagement that ended exactly a year ago because her fiancé cheated on her, days before their wedding by getting a blowjob during his stag.

Which is why i'm surprised she'll do the same to another person. Talk about being a big Hypocrite. Even after she learns that he's ENGAGED, HAS A FIANCÉ AND IS GETTING MARRIED, she fools around with him, lets him finger her and they stop shy of actual sex and that is only because >he< puts a stop of it. She's desperate and more than willing for it go further, even tries to guilt-trip him but he refuses to sleep with her. Small mercies ig but dw they do all the other stuff 🤮

If you are thinking i'm excusing the man, i'm not, he's a disgusting pig. But i'm also FUMING at the double standards of h. She can not want her fiancé to get a bj but as long as it is another woman that suffers, she's okay with fucking someone else's man.

Safety- obv there's cheating. She has an ex that cheated on her, H cheats on his fiancé with h. Yes, his marriage to ow was in name only but i'm sure his fiancé assumed he'd keep it in his pants. Book ends with him flying out to cancel his wedding with ow to be with h.

If your fantasy is being handcuffed to a handsome hunk in a famous cemetery in Paris, then this sweet romance is for you. I loved walking through the cobbled streets of the city of love with Chloe and Joel. Olivia Hayfield describes beautifully the lay of the land and the many, ahem, obstructions her young lovers encounter. I do love a happy ending! ‘Tangled with The Wrong Guy’ – pre-order now.

Making Things Right . . .

Chloe is working as a trainee florist at her Aunt Daisy’s flower shop in Paris. Today marks a year since her heart was broken when her ex Dan cheated on her right before their wedding. So she has been miserable all day, forgetful, clumsy, and just knocked over buckets of water all over the floor. She was glad closing time was approaching. Across the street was a beautiful cemetery which she often crossed through on her way home. Many famous Parisians were buried there: writers, composers, artists, and many more, so the flower business thrived here. Aunt Daisy made a lovely bouquet for her and sent her home early. The cemetery guard greeted her, hired to specifically protect Jim Morrison’s grave because the tourists went after it with spray cans, left drugs, empty gin bottles, etc. As she hurries along through the cemetery so she doesn’t get locked in, she hears voices and notices 5 drunk British guys carrying on. She yelled at them to have some respect and told them to leave. The cemetery was closing in 10 minutes! They threw her phone onto the roof of a tomb. They tied their unconscious friend, the apparent “groom” in this stag party, to a tree. She was worried about him and tried to make them stop. Then one of them chained her wrist and padlocked her to the groom. She told them they would not be able to get back in and free them, but they didn’t care as they headed for the exit.

Joel, her tied up groom, was not so drunk after throwing up, so he introduced himself. The tape around him was making him sweat and he asked for her help getting it off of him. After squirming all over him trying to find an end to pull, she grabbed one and it unraveled then broke. Plan B involved getting her keys from her pack and she was able to tear the plastic and free his arm. They still were chained together, but they would walk now. But Joel asked if they could first visit Oscar Wilde before they looked for a way out. She had to use her teeth to loosen the tight necktie his “friends” tied on his neck and he actually smelled very good! Then she packed all the plastic rubble in her backpack. As they walked, she finally told Joel about her unfaithful fiance she had always trusted. Joel was kind, thoughtful, understanding… and he was getting married for the wrong reason. But Chloe understanding made all the difference in the world to him. When the security guard led the drunken guys to the spot Joel and Chloe were hiding, he turned them around to lead them back out, pretending not to see Joel and Chloe behind the statue. And he wrote a clue in the dust for them. The cat she always talked to appeared and led them to another clue! Would they be taken to a way out of here? But she still wasn’t sure why he would choose to marry Zara, a client of his company. And he didn’t seem to want to talk about it -- which seemed okay since Chloe began figuring it all out on her own. Was she over-analyzing his words again, looking for hidden meanings? Or was she right? And would he marry Zara when they got out of here? Would she ever see him again?

From the very first page, this book grabs you—quite literally, in Chloe’s case. After a disastrous “non-wedding” anniversary, she somehow ends up handcuffed to a groom-to-be at his bachelor party. Not exactly the meet-cute of dreams, right?

The banter? Absolute gold. I found myself giggling nonstop, and the literary references were a delightful bonus for any book lover. The only thing that left me slightly on edge was the last-minute info dump—I wish some details had unraveled a bit sooner. But overall? A fun, fast-paced read that keeps you entertained till the very end!

A humorous story of two people finding each other in a cemetary. Chloe is working in Paris with her godmother at her florist shop and it has been a year since her cancelled wedding. She is on her way home across the cemetary when she hears some English voices behind Jim Morrison's grave. She tries to stop them attaching Joel to a tree as they are on his stag do. She ends up chained to him for the night. Joel just wants to see Oscar Wilde's grave which turns out to be the catalyst for their HEA. This is a must-read.

4.5 stars from me! This is a delicious little book that does what it says on the box. Hayfield really knows her stuff and this is a wonderful bit of escapism! The writing is polished, and the dialogue snappy with lots of humour. The Paris setting is respected by someone who has clearly been there and I felt a distinct yearning to return to this beautiful, romantic city when I'd finished reading. The two leads, Joel and Chloe, have great chemistry and the romance is hot and steamy - I was on the edge of my seat wondering how things might be resolved. Recommended.

Cute but imaginative romance set over one steamy night in a Paris graveyard and beyond where there’s something just a little bit magic in the air. Super enjoyable read.

broken hearts repaired

Tangled with the Wrong Guy is another amusing (and sexy) story in the Miss Lovelock’s Agency for Briken Hearts series. These two come together in an unusual way but their chemistry is undeniable. Hoping there are more coming in this series.

This was a sweet contemporary romance with some magic realism, overall I enjoyed the story, characters and ending.

As some other readers have mentioned, you do have to do quite a lot of accepting of the characters unusual thought processes and behaviours. It’s kind of a full circle moment and it is discussed, I can definitely see that this is going to turn some readers off.

I didn’t really understand the boundary that Joel set that he didn’t want to have full sex, but had done everything else, it essentially had no reasoning. Also, he implied he liked Zara and thought she was cool. But they hadn’t really set any boundaries over other relationships, and he was going as far as to marry her to stop her getting into any problems but then decides the risk is enough now he’s met someone. He also says ‘I love you’ after knowing Chloe for mere hours, which is just a bit creepy..

There are quite a few red flags from both sides to be honest which did let it down. Had it been a meet cute where he wasn’t the stag but was on a stag do, I think it might have worked better.

3.5 rounded up to 4, I did enjoy it but didn’t like the cheating and some questionable character behaviours.

This was an arc via booksprout, thanks to the author for the copy, this is my honest review.

10/5 Perfect Full Moon reading at cemetery.
It was my first book of Olivia Hayfield, but now I can't wait to get all other books of Miss Lovelock's Agency for Broken Hearts series. It was so fun read - humorous, with great references, brilliant dialogues. It takes you in from the first page and you are so engaged that it is hard to put it down. Laughing all the time and eager to turn next page.
I loved the setting, cats, flowers and, of course, the cemetery crazy cat lady Chloe who meets Joel, groom-to-be on his slag party. I really loved their meeting scene and their night at cemetery. When moonlight magic happens. All so real and somehow unreal.
Amazing writing style that draws you in. And yes, separation anxiety is real. Enjoyed it so much.

I really enjoyed this one. The premise of two strangers shackled together and locked in a cemetery was too much to pass up, and I’m glad I didn’t. Chloe and Joel were fun to get to know and their circumstances lived up to my expectations. I thought they moved a bit quickly, but this whole book asks you to give up a little of your disbelief and I did so gladly. Speaking of suspending disbelief, the more fantastical elements of the story were well done and not too overbearing. I just wish I had a Miss. Lovelock in my life. This book had humor, heart and some seriously hot times. I’m already looking forward to the next in the series. Definitely recommended.

This was my first book by Olivia Hayfield that I've read. The premise of the story is good, with the main couple being handcuffed together in a cemetery after dark, and I liked the characters of Joel and Chloe a lot. Their personalities were relatable and believable, plus I loved the romantic setting of Paris. I was disappointed, however, at how bawdy and crude the book was. I don't mind a little steam in a story, but this one found opportunities on most of the pages to interject some sexual comment, innuendo, or action. Overall, I liked the story, but not sure I'll read another of this series because of the amount of bawdy and crude content.

This book takes place in Paris, France. There are French phrases and the use British spellings.

Chloe moved to Paris to work in her godmother's flower shop. A year ago she found out her fiance cheated on her just days before the wedding.
Joel is in Paris to celebrate his up coming wedding. As a prank, his friends end up using plastic film wrap to tie him to a tree, and end up chaining his wrist to Chloe's.

Just not my cup tea. I just couldn't get past where she was willing to make-out with the groom to be, but she called off her wedding because her groom entertained a stripper. I had problems with the double standards.

This book grabs you from the start, especially when Chloe ends up handcuffed to a groom-to-be at his bachelor party after a disastrous anniversary. The banter between Chloe and Joel is hilarious, and the literary references are a fun bonus. While the ending info dump felt a bit rushed, the fast-paced story kept me hooked.

It was my first Olivia Hayfield book, and now I’m excited to read more in the *Miss Lovelock's Agency for Broken Hearts* series. Fun, witty, and full of quirky charm—Chloe and Joel’s chemistry is unforgettable!

Have you ever read a Cemetery Meet Cute? Well, I have!
Tangled With The Wrong Guy is an unusually set, spicy novella that had me turning the page with ease. Olivia masterfully brings Paris romance into where the admired lay under the soil and stars. Le chat noir roaming the cemetery was my first clue that maybe some magic was in the air, but I was pleasantly surprised by just how much…
A wonderful read!

I was a bit confused by this story. It was fun and I liked the references to Oscar Wilde. But I just didn’t get the moral of the main character because I didn’t find it consistent.
