I know better than to play with fire, but for her I'm willing to burn. She's a deadly combination of tough and tempting, and I'm finding my control slipping away. After years of haunting me, she's finally mine. Not that anyone can know what we're up to. If our secret gets out, we'll both pay the price. No one knows the truth. Not about her. Not about me. Then it turns out my first mistake was letting her get under my skin. The second was trusting her even though I probably shouldn't. Now I know for a fact that forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest. But the bitter taste of betrayal is the hardest to forget. To make things worse, our enemies are coming for not just her, but my club. If I have to choose between her and her secrets or my club, I don't know if I can. The club always comes first, but now, so does she.
Knowing each other for so long and never meeting has pulled Keys and Marla together and now they get their first in person meeting. It didn’t really go off as planned but now Marla is back again with information for the club that could save many lives. Marla is tough and has been gathering intel on some of the most dangerous men around.
Keys and Marla have both had traumatic pasts that play into all of this as well. The drama and twists and turns made this book hard to put down. This author writes with an intensity that has me devouring pages and always looking forward to more of her work.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
This is the story of Keys and Maria. These two have not had easy lives at all. They both experienced things in their childhood that have left them with some serious trauma. It has marked their souls for all of their lives. These two are two people who have suffered greatly and can not seem to pull themselves out of the marks those events have made on them. However, the know that the other has been though so much like them. These two play a serious game of cat and mouse. Indicated by her, she never figured he would be so good at the game. But, he knows exactly what she is doing. She doesn't know that he knows what he wants and his sites are set on her. They have suffered for long as individuals that together they just might be able to pull themselves out of the funk they are living in and take on the world and conquer it. I don't think that I mention that he is in the Devil's Riot MC Tennessee. That's important because the club has some serious things going on and that part of the book keeps you one your toes and turning the pages as quick as you can. I for one love to read a good MC romance. It use to be all I read but I haven't in a little bit and really loved that this book was about a MC. I loved this book. Had the best time reading and recommend this to anyone who loves this kind of books.
This is Keys and Marla's story. They both fell for each other just from hearing the others voice. Then, when they meet for the first time, Marla throws herself at Keys and...oops, I'm going to stop right there. While I did enjoy their story, I also had a few issues with it too. 1-There is no way someone is going to be okay with being tied up for their willing first time, like Marla was after what she went through. I don't care how much you trust someone. It just wouldn't happen, in my opinion. 2- I don't care how much of a badass you are. There is no way you are going to go into a situation by yourself and think you'll come out of it unscathed. I love a strong female, but I don't like one who thinks she can do everything by herself. 3- After everything Keys had been through growing up, you would have thought he would have had more care for Marla their first time even without knowing her history. I'm glad they were able to work through their issues and come out stronger together. I did like the ending.

I was so excited for this book. Marla has always been strong and a biotch some of the time, in previous books. I was expecting a bad a** and got a pushover. In the 1st part of the book, she stands her ground. But when she finds herself locked in a room she just rolls over and accepts it?! I am sorry, she would have found a way out. I usually get bored with "I am woman hear me roar" type books. Don't get me wrong, women 100% can be strong and independent. I expected Marla to be written this way because of her past and what she is doing now. . The last couple of chapters reflect her strength. Key's character had the potential for something deeper. His past is skimmed over. I felt let down. I have loved this series and am sad to see it end. I wish it had ended stronger than that. The ending of all the big bad that was the theme throughout the books was anticlimactic. Sorry. I wanted to leave a better review. This was a major letdown and disappointment for me.
This is a good read that could use some improvement....My rating is more of a 3.5. Overall, I did enjoy this read and the characters. There is action, spice, and drama. I do think reading the previous stories would add to the background of this one, you almost need to imo. One of the things I think this book could do without is a scene with another woman that is not the female lead, not cheating, just unnecessary to add to the story. Without that, I would have rated a little higher. It won't bother some people, I just like my lead characters to be faithful throughout the book together or not. Or if they aren't, I dont want any details. So decent read, start at the first book in this series, and if you dont like details with other women, you might want to skip. I would probably read this again, I missed a book in between, so I was a little lost.
I received an ARC of this book, all opinions and thoughts are my own.
I don’t know who was more damaged, Keys or Marla, because they had both been through some major trauma as young children and it has left such an indelible mark on their souls that it seems nothing will shake them out of their funk but together these two find a way to overcome all their past struggles and build a foundation to move forward as a couple and forget about their pasts. I loved the cat and mouse game Marla tried to play with Keys but he was formidable in knowing what he wanted and when he had his sights set on Marla there was no way she would be escaping him. All the club interactions wee great and I was glad that through some drama with the club Marla was able to set things right with her family. A great addition to this series. Can't wait for the next book.
Keys and Marla both experienced tragic trauma when they were children, which has shaped them in adulthood. Key wants her, but she tells him he can't handle her and her secrets. But trouble is coming for the club's wives and children, springing everyone into action. I received an arc for my voluntary honest review for NN Book Blog. If you love an MC romance with a touch of BDSM, with some twists and turns, then you will enjoy this book. There may be some triggers for people; therefore, please heed the author's trigger warnings before reading or purchasing this book. Although this is Book Six in the Devil's Riot MC Tennessee Series it is able to be read as a stand alone.
Marla and Keys had a past which became their present under dangerous circumstances. Their connection was through the club and family. Marla was did not get along with her family, but she worked hard at protecting them. Bringing information to the club led to a lockdown, and Keys and Marla had a chance to admit to their feelings. Keys wanted her from the beginning and saw behind her façade. I loved how the family and club were strengthened through her actions as well as how prepared she was for what would come. Good story.
I received a copy through 1852Media, and this is my unsolicited review.
This is the 6th book in this series, and this is Keys and Marla’s story. These characters both have traumatic pasts, and they have known each other for years, but have never met, but when they do nothing pans out perfectly. Marla arrives at the MC with information which could save many lives. This is a well written action-packed story, with found family, friendships, emotions, danger, suspense, intrigue, secrets, drama, temptation, taking chances, trust, challenges, revelations, trauma, twists and turns, healing, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
First and foremost, I love this series. I mean all of the Devil's Riot. Ok, that being said, Keys story was full of all the things you come to love out of EC Land. Marla is a strong and independent heroine. Keys can not resist. The twist and turns and revels only enhance the plot and add richness to the story. This is a must read with five starts. Enjoy the ride! Peace out.
I thought kind of a slow start but boy when it got going it was like am avalanche. Keys and Marla have known each other for years but only by phone. They did end up booking up one time but she left before he could her number. He has spent countless hours searching for her. She is asked to.come to the clubhouse with information. She is kind of apprehensive because she knows Keys will be there.
Damn!! That was really good!! Paybacks a bitch after everything he went through and the MC fighting those psycho assholes that thought they had any right 2 have women that didn't belong 2 them. Marla has went through hell herself in her past but with the help of her best friend and calix things worked out pretty good 4 her. But can keys get a hold of the past and try 2 c about a future? They both need 2 stop being stubborn about things lol
I love the Devil’s Riot MC Tennessee series and Stripping Keys is the perfect way for the series to end! I loved Marla and Key’s story! They’ve both had traumatic pasts that play into the story. With all the action, drama and twists and turns, had me glued to story. I couldn’t put it down! I look forward to more of E.C. Land’s books!
An awesome read, I absolutely loved Keys and Marla’s story ❤️❤️❤️ she’s one tough cookie and no one holds her back. Keys has his hands full with this tough little woman but he wouldn’t have it any other way. A definite page turner and very entertaining. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎🖤
Keys had a horrible past with his mother. He had already seen a few times Marla, she has a terrible past also at the age of eighteen. Now she can handle herself. Keys finds himself liking her. Twists and turns are in this story.
This is a MC Romantic Suspense, and this is the 6st book in the Devil's Riot Tennessee series. I have read the first five books in this series before I picked up this book. I do love this series, but I just found this book ok. I wanted more for this book.
Love this book and its series and would recommend it to anyone who loves to read about MC life and their families and friends and E.C Land is an amazing author
