When Wendy is horribly abandoned by her fiancé Bruce just days before her dream wedding, her fabulous gay best friend Mitch steps in to help save the day! What happens next is a plethora of comical miscommunications that lead to one of the most colorful weddings of our time that would make even Martha Stewart proud as Mitch, along with his life partner Kevin and bigger than life friend Bob, rush to make Wendy’s dreams come true. And maybe even some of Mitch’s dreams?
I absolutely loved reading this story. It was LOL funny in places – crazy funny! It’s a totally outrageous rom-com that I can’t imagine ever happening in real life but that doesn’t bother me when reading fiction. It’s pretty short but I never felt like anything was rushed or left out. If this were ever made into an audiobook Joel Leslie would do a fantastic job. I kept hearing his voice in my head while I was reading. 😊
If this book were a movie I'd watch it with a bottle of wine at least once a year. This short and sweet story has everything I want from a chick flick (love, misunderstandings, and big ol' queens) and everything my queer heart needs to feel complete (a reminder of what we've fought for, true love between friends, and of course, big ol' queens). Wendy will have her big beautiful wedding, whether Bruce likes it or not!
