Spontaneously grabbed this book for free after mass today because I loved the “You’re Never Too Busy” short book by this same author. This one wasn’t as profound for me, but it was a needed reminder to let go of control and give everything to the Lord. I didn’t think it was that great at first and kind of simplified things too much, but I really appreciated the end. In the conclusion: “The truth of the matter, dear Christian reader, is that the hardest thing in the world to do is give yourself partially to God and partially to the world. With such an arrangement, you are a person without a home. You are a nomad.” It also painted how suffering can be a gift from God very beautifully. First time in a while I’ve read a whole book in a day! Even though it’s only 50 pages lol!
This was really excellent. I have read some of the source books for this and while they are great, this little book provided me with a fast and pure distillation that I can meditate on without losing the thread in a longer work. I HIGHLY recommend.
