Rate this book
Lena thought she was prepared for anything when she left her old life behind to travel halfway across the world and start fresh. But getting kidnapped on her first day in a foreign country, and being locked in a basement with a group of dangerous criminals, was definitely not part of the plan. Now, trapped in a ruthless game of survival, Lena must navigate an unforgiving world where trust is scarce, and every decision could mean life or death. As alliances form in the most unexpected places, Lena may not only find a way out—but also discover an unexpected love in the darkest of circumstances.

Beware it ends on a cliff hanger
I was so hesitant to read this book. Romance.io said it was closed door but that website has lied to me multiple times. And I also thought it was a reverse harem trope. It is not. And it’s closed door.
The FMC is hilarious. The way her mind works when she is translating her thought to English? I lol’d a few times.
This is a mafia and found family trope. Light on the mafia themes though, umm It’s more of morally grey business men. Maybe even anti hero’s? Nope they’re more hero’s than anti hero.
Some of the writing needed a little work. Slight sentence structure critique, maybe. But its quality is higher than Wattpad.
I throughly enjoyed this book. I can’t wait for the third one
The MMCs are all hilarious as well. This book was just excellent

Started off great but then just got confusing and ended with a cliffhanger.
Had no idea this was going to be a series, the titok videos I saw about this book sort of hinted to Romance but there was none.
It was a lot of back and fourth, the FMC is a bit dull and I don’t quite understand the relationship she has with all these men, she had no remarkable relationship with any of the guys, they appear to be on the same level-lacks depth.
The mafia aspect confused me, all the basement gang appear to have authority but they lack the scary mafia personality.
I feel like we’re lacking a lot of information in this introduction to this series.

Oh My God!!! This is really good I can’t wait for the second one to come out. It’s well written and the plot really got to me especially towards near the end. The beginning was really good especially when they were locked up in the basement and how Lena got the 4 big scary men to like her and having the feeling to protect her.
Finding out who the DJ was wasn’t what I expected in the end.

God what an ending! And what a book! I had my guesses about the person but stillll what a shock of events!

I absolutely loved the character building in this book, I laughed so much throughout the book.

I can’t say I have a fav person out of the boys because I just loved them all, the each individual way they all had there own little banter with Lena.

Loooooooooooove this boooook!!! Fav read of 2025!

Interesting mafia story

I enjoyed the general story, quite literally wrong place, wrong time and the characters were interesting. It came up on social media within romance genre and I’m not really sure where we’re at with that! It’s a very slow burn if it’s romance!

Possible spoiler…..

Lots of friendship/relationships hinted at but not sure if those will develop in the next book(s). I liked that I’m still guessing who (if any) of the men are love interests but I think I was expecting more obvious steam at least which is on me rather than the author.

The storyline was interesting but confusing. TikTok hinted that they were love interests, but this whole book was vanilla. There were over 10 guys showing her interest, and I still have no idea if any of them are supposed to be love interests. The main female character is crying for about 80% of the storyline, which makes it difficult to like her. They mentioned that Issac and Nico were contractors, but the head of the Mafia casually trusts them with everything? It also felt like the Mafia's whole world revolved around Lena, don't they have more important things to be doing? I like where the author was trying to go with this book, but I think it needs more TLC with the writing, plot, character building, and realism.

3.5⭐️

This book would have rated higher if the book hadn’t been marketed as a slow burn ?!

I was left totally confused and distracted as to where the love interest was coming from. Lena has shown no chemistry or interest in any of the male characters other than friends or paternal.

The only character who came close to any form of closeness was Malcolm who she constantly refers to as a father figure and an old man. Even though he is only 8 years older.

The whole referring the lead males as paternal figures and her acting like she is a naive teenager instead of a 23 year old woman, grated.

I really hope book 2 doesn’t turn out the be Niko as the love interest because they are the same age and who she has shown zero interest or spent any time with. Please I really hope not

I was so happy when I found this book❤️

It’s a great book to read for personal enjoyment and I was excited when I saw that there are more books to follow!
I love the found family trope which Lena and the Basement gang (+greenies) embody perfectly 🫶

There are some small trigger themes but I like that the conversations seemed realistic. Lena wants to be strong, but strength is not always easy to come along which I appreciate with the characters. They all have some flaws in their own ways but they all are part of this messed up family.

If you like Found Family, Mafia themes, sweet but strong fmc and lots of protective characters then it is definitely for you!

This started amazing, then I got a bit bored but overall it was fun! I saw this talked about in the context that it would be romance but uh where??? Also if this is anything other than a RH, then this author needs to rethink how they write their characters because if this is a romance, it has to be that. I don't know who on earth who is meant to be the love interest here. But honestly, I kinda vibe with it too.

So much potential

In the beginning i was so captivated to read the book . So trailed to see the love romance . But its none , no spice and no love interest. In the end i was so bored that i couldn’t wait to finish the book. Just don’t lose your time with it
