If you think blind dates are bad, imagine your date is a werewolf. Ayira Jones doesn’t spend much time around anyone—human or werewolf—so when her date claims that they’re mates, she reacts like any person would. By panicking.
Chozen isn’t looking for a mate. As firstborn to the Alpha, he’s busy training and protecting his pack as he prepares for the responsibility of a lifetime. When he’s tricked into a blind date by his pack, he didn’t expect to find his mate across the table. But now that he’s found her, he doesn’t intend to lose her. Too bad Ayira has other plans.
My heart ached for this stranger.
Snowed In with a Beta is an adult paranormal romance novella, perfect for fans of banter, insta-love, and werewolf shifters.
That initial meeting. The way he literally kidnapped Ayira and was not understanding or even pleasant, was a MAJOR turn off. He also did not redeem himself for me. (I liked the epilogue because I’m a sucker for seeing MCs in the future. I’m sorry, I’m a weak woman).
I really enjoyed Ayira. She was quick witted, very funny. I liked her thoughts. lol. Her reactions were realistic, because honestly, I too would scream bloody murder if a werewolf transformed in front of me and was twice my size over! Her internal musings were pretty hilarious.
There were a few grammar errors. Not enough that makes me want to demand an editor, but in the sentence where they were giving themselves the run down, Chozen said he was 500 years old and had lived in his community for the last 600 years. Same paragraph. So that could have used a double check. A missing word here and there, but as I mentioned, nothing too eye popping.
MCs were not snowed in, nor was Chozen a beta for longer than 5 seconds, so maybe, different title would have sufficed.
It’s a short story and I believe it captured the world building well. I know how the leadership is set up and how it transferred and how they handle conflicts, so that’s good.
The spicy scenes were most CRINGE. I cringed at the lines!!! And hurt my forehead with the numerous slaps I gave myself. They were very bad. You know that tropey scene in p*rn with the pizza delivery NOT delivering guy? Think that level of bad and cringe dialogue. Could have done without all of those scenes.
⭐️⭐️⭐️.✨/🌶️ I like this book better than the first book. The FMC & MMC had more chemistry in the romance portion of the book, and I like that they covered more of the werewolf /paranormal world. It gave you some insight/history and explained a lot of things about the culture, and I feel like that is what’s missing from the first book?
I’ve read three books by three different authors in this series so far and I’ve only really enjoyed one. This book was better than the first by Melody Lynch, but it doesn’t hold a candle to Tessa Stone’s installment.
Per the bio at the end, Elle Madearis is a new author and I can tell by her writing. Her misuse of words, lack of description, and inconsistencies are evidence of a novice writer. For example, starting with the title “Snowed in win a Beta” when the MMC is actual an Alpha in waiting.
I usually stay away from multi-author series because you can run into to uneven storytelling. In this case, it was worse. Although all the stories take place in the same world, even in the same location, Ms. Madearis shifters have different “rules/lore”. (An editorial mistake, perhaps but still unacceptable.)
All of the books in this series are stand-alone; the only element they share is they are set in the fictional place Shadow Wolf Creek. My recommendation - skip all the books not written by Tessa Stone.
I didn’t feel the love between Chozen and Ayira. The sexual chemistry and attraction was there, but love? Nah. I didn’t feel that. Chozen came off as hella infatuated for sure, but Ayira just gave “I’m forced to be here”.
Ayira’s reactions to being fated was hella real though. I wish the waitress would’ve explained to Ayira what the noise she heard meant instead of just saying “congratulations”. Shoutout to Ada for doing it, but there was so much time between then and the noise where someone could’ve explained to Ayira what was going on.
There’s also a subplot of Chozen becoming Alpha of his pack. He doesn’t want to do it, so there’s some inner turmoil.
Umm… 🤔 I don’t really have much else to say about this book. It was cute for what it was. ✌🏾
Ayira discovers she is mated to a werewolf while she’s on a double date with her friend on Valentine’s Day. Chozen who has no interest in finding his mate is in for a rude awakening when the call from his wolf recognizes Ayira. Ayira thinks she can run from Chozen but there is no place she can go that he won’t find her. Chozen must prove that being mated to werewolf isn’t how it’s betrayed in the movies.
Loved how Chozen loved her down as he should for his queen.
Ayira was fighting their attraction until she realized that they were mates. she couldn't understand it, but she wanted him. needed him. didn't know that he was her last breath. he was her heartbeat. everything that she never had before. and Chozen didn't know how to explain his feelings. he just knew that he had to have her, proclaimed his love on day one. it was funny and sexy. I enjoyed it.
This was a great quick read. I would have loved it to be longer with more detail of the wedding and how the relationship transpired before the wedding. And how Jasmine and Beck relationship develops. However I understand it seems to be a novella and not a novel. Cho zen was not playing when it came down to Aryia. And that’s the part I always love about paranormal romances. Keep writing Elle and I’ll keep reading. You’ve acquired another fan!!!!
I loved how realistic Ayira was with everything! Not wanting to be on the double date, reluctance to going anywhere with a stranger, feeling like she is being kidnapped because she was lol, them playing in and around the car! I also love how both of them are chosen and also chosen for each other. I’m happy they didn’t give up on each other! Beautiful story!
I enjoyed the book in general, but some parts dragged on for too long, and then others were rushed. How do you go from the main female character running away to then 3 years later???? There just wasn't enough character development, which IMO hurt the story. I wanted to read about the different ceremonies and the characters continuing to build that bond, and that just didn't happen.
It was a nice little short story to use as a palette cleanser for the high angst books I’ve been reading. I find that some authors can give you a full story that ticks off all the necessary literary boxes and some can’t. This was an in between for me. But a nice read overall.
Enjoyed this shifter novella. For someone that was so against being mated Chozen lost his ability to speak once he laid eyes on Ayira. But once he seen she was attempting to walk away without making him aware he somewhat kidnapped her lol in the end things worked out wish it was a little bit longer but overall good read.
So I’ll start out by saying that I did enjoy the book. There were certain parts that stuck out to me where there were a couple of typos. Also some information did not match or the ideas didn’t flow cohesively but otherwise the couple was cute and the book was worth reading.
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 🌶️🌶️.5 I am a sucker for a shifter romance, BUT the FMC was sooo irritating to me! Like girl why are you on the counter screaming?🧍🏽♀️😂 I get that being snatched up by a werewolf is crazy, yet I don’t see myself being as stubborn and extra like that. It was definitely an easy read that I recommend to my girlies that love black paranormal romance!
This book gave me everything I needed. Chozen is such an amazing and sweet man ! And they both were so funny and charming! I was giggling and kicking my feet. It’s now almost 5am, but i had to finish this is one sitting! Im excited to read more about this world from this author.
So, it was a good story until the end. It seemed that the author wanted to finish it quickly because Ayira's ceremony overlapped the two years later, and its completion clearly after Ariel was born. The entire last chapter confused the timeline. I still don't understand how 19 month old, Ariel is so articulate.
I found a new ✍️ that I like very much !! Snowed in with a Beta is a sweet angst filled 🌶🌶🌶 PNR rom❤nce that kept me engaged from word one to the end😄. I can't wait to read the other 📚 in the series! Happy reading🍷
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️|🌶️🌶️🌶️ The story was short and straightforward. I really like the FMC and MMC throughout. Elle Madearis is one of my fav authors since I picked up one of her books in January this year. She does not miss! 💖
I enjoyed this werewolf story. Chozen was a little cold in the beginning and Ayira was very indifferent towards him. However, I didn’t feel like there was a strong bond between them. Chozen warmed up eventually but Ayira definitely kept her feelings on lock.
I enjoyed this story and I love Elle Madearis’ writing style but I felt like it was too short. Ayira was still so indifferent to Chozen and the switch up at the end just felt very rushed to me.
Elle Madearis’s Snowed In With A Beta was unique, sensual, paced paranormal read! Imagine meeting your mate and fight your destiny every step of the way to realize you can’t escape fate …your Chosen!
I enjoyed this short story, but it needs editing. Several details contradicted each other. Missing words made sentences incomplete. The plot and characters were enjoyable, 2.5 stars
Ayira was not accepting of being a shifter fated mate. I didn’t like that chozen didn’t communicate with her what was happening when he met her and let her process everything that needs to happen. Instead he was kinda forcing it, but glad I’m glad she finally let him love her.
Choosen was a beta wolf about to become an alpha wolf as soon as he found his mate. Good thing he went on that double date ❣️ sometimes it’s good to get out. You never know whom you will meet.
Ayira gave Chozen a run for his money, lol!! No matter how sweet he was to her, she kept trying to leave!! It was hilarious. But she finally accept that she was his mate. I loved this book!! I love fiesty fmc!!
