Great Reading Resource
This book is a great educational resource for teaching phonics. It covers key elements like vowels, consonants, digraphs, and consonant blends (including tricky ones like “ink” “onk” “ank”, etc), making it a solid choice for early readers. The reading passages are simple but effective, and the cute illustrations help keep kids engaged. I also liked the exercises at the end like the matching and fill-in-the-blank games. They add a fun, interactive resource to learning. Overall, this is a well structured book that engages young readers learning phonics.

helpful but could be more interesting
One of the book’s biggest strengths is its clarity. The step-by-step progression is great for building confidence, and the illustrations help keep young learners engaged. Parents and educators will appreciate how it supports phonemic awareness in a way that's easy to follow.
However, some of the “stories” / lessons feel a bit repetitive or lacking in creativity. While this may help reinforce phonics skills, a little more variety in storytelling could make the learning process even more enjoyable.

Teaching resources
English is my second language; I first learned the word phonics when my kid became 1st grade. This book, while quite simple, can serve as a valuable resource for teachers and parents alike when teaching early readers. The book is full of colorful illustrations and surely will keep young children’s attention. For me personally, it helps me understand what phonics are when reviewing my kid’s homework.

nice pictures fun activities
Well, I teach slightly older kids in fifth grade. This book is great for those who struggle with reading. After each lesson, I’m always looking for stories that they can read to each other. The pictures match very well and the activity at the end are fun center based activities that I can have them do on their own. This book is great for tier 2 instruction.

Ortin Gillingham Approach is Key!
The Ortin Gillingham approach reminds me of how we learned to read in the 70s. It’s how I taught my own kids and am teaching my grandkids. This book lays it out very easily with bright colorful pictures to engage the child even more. Puzzles and games are at the end; activities to help strengthen reading skills.
