I write steamy romance that’s safe, funny, and totally over the top. My heroes are always alpha males because the stronger they are, the harder they fall. Luckily the smart, sassy heroines know how to catch them and make everything better!
I never get tired of believing that love can show up unexpectedly and with determination. That it can find you anywhere, even curled up on the couch, in your jammies, while eating ice cream and binging romance novels. Then a knock on the door reveals your gorgeous new neighbor that you didn’t even know had moved in… or maybe it’s that hot friend of your dad’s you only know through photos…
Possibly the HEAs come easier because my home and office are in a romantic clearing of giant evergreens in the Pacific Northwest. Think Snow White without the Dwarves. But I do have a bounty of wild animals that come to visit. There’s even a resident nuthatch that talks to itself (constantly)! And there *are* currently seven chickens in the henhouse…
Taming the Reluctant Vampire is part of the Escape to Haven County series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, vampire gets her hunky cop romance. Janey is a vampire who doesn't like to feed due to fear of hurting others. Brody is a hunky police officer with a dominant side. When he rescues Janey after she refuses to feed, he knows this little vampire is his to care for. But will his sassy little submissive listen? This was a sweet and steamy story. I loved how dominant Brody got Janey to become herself again and realize he loves her as she is.

Brody, the male human chief of police, is called out because there’s a strange woman with potential fangs curled up on a park bench. When he finds Janey, the female vampire lead, he recognises that she’s severely dehydrated. Coercing her into taking some of his blood, he carries her back to his office and looks for help.
Janey became a vampire because she was given gene therapy whilst unresponsive with rabies. She thinks she’d have preferred to die and hates drinking blood because she’s worried about hurting the donor.
After consultation with the head vampire of the area, Brody is given guardianship of Janey and looks to find a way to convince her both that she is safe is to eat from him and that he wants to be with her longterm.
This short story is dual POV, well written and edited, and really packs a lot of plot into a very short piece! It’s contemporary fantasy and I really enjoyed the balance the author has struck between what we know and the paranormal emergence. I enjoyed Brody’s compassionate, careful approach to Janey, which balanced consent with her physical requirements. I empathised with Janey’s concerns around consent and harm for her diet, and enjoyed her enjoyment of Brody’s gentle manipulations that she recognised but chose to acquiesce to. I enjoyed their intimate scenes and the way Brody used them to build their relationship development. I laughed at the banter and playfulness and the integrated secondary characters. I adored the ending, and the completeness of commitment it showed by both characters.

Janie is a reluctant vampire who refuses to embrace her nature. She never asked to be a vampire nor did she want to be and she’s not willing to hurt other people just so she can feed. Brody found her at her lowest point and has appointed himself as her protector, he wants to show her that he wants her. He’ll protect her and do whatever he hast to for her, and keep insisting that she feed him, but she doesn’t bite him, but she starting to think that maybe she should embrace her nature now and show him what he wants Read the book to see if she finally gives in and bites Brody and find out if they live happily ever after the story is a wonderful love story and has lots of drama. It’s a definite page Turner of recommend it to everybody it is a must read.

Loving this author, if you haven’t read any of her books yet - what are you waiting for?! Loved this quick read. I loved it so much, I wished there was more!! The characters were great, especially their chemistry. The little tease of BDSM was a fun twist that added to the heat of the book. Just an all around easy fun read that you can clearly imagine playing out in your head. I think everyone could use their own Brody, definitely a book boyfriend favorite!.

I am not normally a vampire fan sparkly or not but this was a refreshing take on the theme. Short and very sweet ( not quiet PG ) it is enough to read on a lunch break with no violence and not a single sparkle in sight Lots of surprises especially if you have not read any other Haven County stories and could even convert me to being a vamp fan.

I was not expecting this story from this author and I loved it!!! Janey is a vampire who doesn’t like hurting people, thus she’s kinda starving. Brody is chief of police who helps her by letting her bite and eat from him. This story is so hot and steamy, loved it and can’t wait for more from this world. I wish I could give it ten stars!!.

She is a vampire who doesn't like to hurt people even if it means she starves. Brody is the Chief of Police that has taken it upon himself to help her even offering up himself for her meals. Will he and Janey become a couple and will it lead them to happiness. This heartfelt story has a different take on paranormal and kept me glued to the pages.

Very good! I absolutely adored Janey and Brody equally. I loved how they met and it only got better from there. The small details about that world and what was needed to coexist were fun too. I am loving this series so far and can't wait to be introduced to more characters.

The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Brody, Chief of Police, and Janey a rare female vampire. The story keeps us turning the pages with instant connection, a Dom/Sub relationship and steam.

This is a short and quick read about Janey and Brody. She is something she never wanted to be, a vampire. She does not want to hurt anyone even it means she is no longer. Brody, the chief of police, gets a call and goes to check it out. He finds Janey at her weakest and is determined to save her. This is a sweet, cute and sexy read.
Interesting resident for this sleepy little county of Haven. A new dynamic for the sheriff as he takes on new responsibilities once he makes contact with the latest resident under his care.
