Murder, mayhem, and a meddling hairstylist—Summer Snow's latest mystery is a cut above the rest!

Meet Summer Snow, a hairstylist with a knack for sleuthing and a penchant for getting tangled up in her clients' lives. When one of her regulars confides in her about a missing daughter who ran off and married a shady businessman, Summer's curiosity gets the best of her. Against her better judgment, she leaves the sunny coast of California for the rugged terrain of Texas, determined to uncover the truth.

Joining her on this unexpected adventure is her feisty Aunt Clara, who just so happens to be vacationing in Texas. Together, they dive into a mystery that quickly spirals out of control, snipping away at clues. The local sheriff is none too pleased with these nosy out-of-towners stirring up trouble in his jurisdiction, but that doesn't deter Summer and Clara.

Their investigation takes a dark turn when the missing woman is found dead, and it becomes clear that her husband’s shady dealings have made him many enemies—enemies who wouldn’t hesitate to kill his wife for retribution.

As Summer digs deeper, she encounters resistance at every turn and narrowly escapes danger on more than one occasion.

Will Summer be able to untangle the web of deceit and bring the killer to justice, or will she find herself the next target in this deadly game? Find out in this gripping and fast-paced mystery that will keep you on the edge of your seat!

It’s official , Summer Snow now has the salon but things are still the same it’s just her to blame now …anyway on with the story….what a tale from Amber Crewes don’t know what I’d do if I was Summer Snow, relish the mystery and amateur sleuthing or run for the hills from all the thrills. Another premonition sets the stage but it’s while attending Mrs. Yarlborough she gets a strong feeling , her daughter Felicity is missing and has left her reeling . There’s no way she won’t help ,especially as Carl and Aunt Clara are at present in Texas so they can have a nosy while Summer heads there herself putting everything else in good hands . ..Of course Summer has a run in with the local Sheriff , nothing new there to declare but the news isn’t good as pre her premonition Felicity has lost her life so the investigation is to find a killer/ killers and seek out justice for Mrs Y …oh my! This on top of Harding getting to her all the more and the list keeps on being added to too! Oh bother! Brilliant as usual Amber Crewes knows what to do, to get the pulse racing as we pick at the clues then she throws a curveball and we know not what or which lead to look for. Yes if you’ve read a good Crewes book you know the score… Wonderful writing that’s so exciting and new and raw. It’s what this author does best , it’s what she’s known for. I’m leaving my review voluntarily and in my own words.

Summer Snow, the owner of a hair salon is working on Mrs. Yarlborough 's hair when Mrs. Yarlborough tells her that her daughter Felicity is missing. And she can't get in touch with her at all. Felicity had run off and married a shady oil business man, Armstrong Talbot of Texas. Summer, having a feeling something is not right, and her curiosity is piqued. She decides to check into it and leaves California for Texas. Since Summer's Aunt Clara and her boyfriend, Carl are vacationing there, they join Summer in finding the missing girl. But when Felicity is found dead, Summer digs deeper into the investigation which is now a murder. The local sheriff is not happy that Summer and Clara are sticking their nose into his investigation but that definitely doesn't deter them. Can they figure out the jumble of suspects? Did her husband or his enemies have anything to do with it? With so many twists and turns can this murder be solved? What a page turner this book is. I highly recommend this book as well as the whole series. I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

'Curl Up and Die' was thrilling. Moreover, the energetic plot was filled with suspense, tension, some action, tending to customers at the salon, investigating a missing young lady, stumbling upon the young lady's dead body, visiting the husband, being rattled by Drew Harding (an unsavory man), being questioned by the sheriff, investigating at the warehouse, smelling perfume in the air (an interesting clue), running into the RV break-in, getting clobbered on the head, being held by a woman and her henchmen, being helped by an unlikely source, hearing the murderer's confession, and going home.
Of course, Summer, the protagonist, took a retainer from a mother to investigate the whereabouts of Felicity, the missing lady. She was such a busybody. With fires being started here and there, Summer with the help of her Aunt Clara and Carl, stumbled upon the murderer. Overall, I liked the riveting narrative which kept me wanting to read to see whodunit.

A Case of Jealousy!

"Curl Up and Die" is Book 5 of the Spring Harbor Cozy Mystery series, written by Amber Crewes. This series focuses on Summer Snow, her elderly Aunt Clara, her aunt's elderly boyfriend, Carl, and several other regulars in Spring Harbor, California. This particular episode has Summer, Aunt Clara, and Carl solving a case of a missing person turned murder victim. The murder victim is the daughter of Spring Harbor, California residents. They hire Summer to go to Beaumont to find out want happened to their daughter. There were a couple of technical errors, as well as a whole bunch of grammatical fragments. A couple of the early scenes didn't ring 'true to form' in my opinion, which is why I gave it a 4 star rating. I loved the beagle puppies, Barney and Betty. I guess you could say that there was one storyline that wound up as a cliffhanger: who was the pretty girl in Evan's coffee shop. Even though the book didn't say who she was, I think Summer has it all wrong. Maybe you'll come up with who the mystery girl is.

Summer is at it again when a client at the salon talks about her daughter. Mrs. Yarborough is upset because Felicity won’t respond to her. Summer gets the feeling something is wrong. So, working on that hunch, she decides to do some checking. Unfortunately, her hunch becomes real. Summer finds out Aunt Clara and Carl are in Texas attending a conference so when Mrs. Yarborough ask her to help, she decides to take on the case and heads to Texas. Will she and Aunt Clara gather all the clues to identify the murderer? At the same time, Harding is still threatening her unless she gathers information on the list of names provided to her. Will she be able to juggle everything that is going on? Barney and Betty are a hoot! This story had a nice plot with great lively, vibrant characters that added a depth to the story. I am looking forward to the next one.

Great addition to the series!

This series is so much fun. Summer once again gets involved with her client's problems. This time, the daughter of her client has not been in touch with her family and the husband is being difficult. When Summer discovers that her Aunt Clara and Carl are in Texas for a concert and are in the same town that the daughter resides in, well things fall into place for Summer to investigate. The mother insists that Summer look into it and she will pay for her to fly to Texas and stay there. Of course she goes! Here first paying PI gig but will she survive to enjoy it? Maybe with a little help from her enemies! No spoilers, you'll just have to read it!

I receive an ARC. This is my honest review.

This was another great Summer Snow mystery. Summer, along with her aunt Clara and Clara's boyfriend, Carl, search for missing bride Felicity Talbot in Beaumont, Texas. Felicity is the daughter of Spring Harbor residents, Mr. and Mrs. Jones and the wife of oilman, Armstrong Talbot. What happened to Felicity? Find out by reading this well written book, which I highly recommend to other mystery readers. I received an ARC of this book, and the opinion expressed is strictly my own.

Curl Up and Die us book 5 in A Spring Harbor Cozy Mystery by Amber Crews. I believe that this series is fabulous. Summer now owns Summer Cuts with Mrs Beesley. Life is good for Summer if only Drew would leave het alone! I felt that there was so many levels in the book. I like how the author grows each character and it is almost like one big epic series. This book should be on everyone's TBR list. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.

Great book!

Harding is out of jail and harassing Summer. Summer is asked to find a daughter of one of their customers in Texas. Amber Crewes leads the reader on a journey to Texas to find the daughter. Summer's Aunt Clara and Carl are already in Texas to help her. Summer is worried about her friends because of Harding threatening them if Summer does not do what he wants. If you like the others books in this series, you will like this one. Happy reading! 😊

To be totally honest, this wasn’t one of my fave cases Summer’s been involved in, but it was pretty fun that she got to sleuth with both her Aunt Clara and Carl who I thinks she hopes gets to become her uncle eventually. I sure wish that creep Drew Harding wasn’t in the picture, he’s such a jerk. I really hope he gets some permanent punishment soon! Trusting the author on this because her bad guys do always have to pay for what they did.

Summer is at it again. Her only excuse is: “Maybe it was her own need to fix people.”

She blindly goes where no one has gone before. Always it’s the Sheriff’s business not hers. She’ll even leave a hairdo right in the middle to stick her nose where it doesn’t belong.

She has enough troubles of her own but that won’t stop her. If you follow Summer, you’ll wonder what is she doing this time!

Summer Snow is a hair stylist who moonlights as a private investigator. She gets hired by Mrs Yarborough to find her daughter Felicity. Felicity is married to a very rich man, Armstrong. Did he have anything to do with Felicity being missing or is someone else involved?

Murder!

A fascinating story as Summer along with her aunt and aunt's boyfriend delve into the disappearance of a young woman with a wealthy husband. So many possible suspects make this an intriguing story and one that I thoroughly enjoyed as I tried to identify the guilty party. I recommend this book.

Not the strongest entry in the Summer Snow series but has enough about it to make it a fairly fun read. Taking some of the characters out of Spring Harbor doesn't allow the plot to play to the series' strengths
