After their journey above the clouds to the world of the giants, Acer and Airena have returned to the surface. Acer is satisfied with what he’s learned about the giants and the world’s grand design, and Airena found the White Lake her late adventuring companions had been searching for. The two of them have promised to stay together, but with Airena’s responsibilities to the elven caravan and Acer’s ever-growing network of friends, both ancient and young, it seems they can’t settle down just yet. And what’s more, a great power stirring in the Far East threatens to bring an end to everything they’ve worked for...
Acer's relative slow slice-of-life continues, going from kingdom building, saving an Empire and even a whole continent all the while saying goodbye to old friends, making new ones and raising the next generation. I find the characters and story rather interesting even if it and the world are nothing particularly interesting (I find the world a bit odd and unbelievable to be honest), and it delivers a continuation of the story much like earlier volumes. I enjoyed it for now, and I am curious what ending hinted at the after word the author is working towards...
The title for this is honestly rather terrible, and doesn't give you an idea about what simple pleasures are found within. The title character grows, learns, and appreciates the things around him. Far less about the isekai element of this series, and much more about a long and mostly peaceful story. Read and appreciate the character growth, love, loss, acceptance.
