I was able to use GIMP a little, but I still am having a lot of trouble using the program. But I am 66 years old and while I use computers I am not all that computer savvy. If you are able, the GIMP programs is a cheap way to have Photoshop without buying it. The program seems to have far more bells and whistles than I could ever learn to use. But you may well be helped by such a book.
