Practice Problems for the Civil Engineering PE Exam contains 755 problems designed to help you identify important civil engineering topics and apply your knowledge to a variety of problems. Short, six-minute, multiple-choice problems demonstrate the format of the NCEES Civil PE exam and help you concentrate on a single subject. More complex problems combine several concepts, illustrate efficient and accurate solving methods, and familiarize you with the codes, standards, and references you’ll need for the exam. Solutions are clear, complete, and easy to follow. U.S. customary and SI units are equally supported, and units are meticulously identified and rigorously carried through all calculations. Where multiple methodologies (e.g., ASD and LRFD) are permitted by the exam, both solutions are presented in this book. Frequent references back to the Civil Engineering Reference Manual and the original codes and standards direct you to support material when you need it. Prepare for the Civil PE Exam by Solving Problems—The More Problems, the Better What’s New in the 13th Edition Exam Topics Covered
Don't bother. Really. Unless you are unemployed and can devote at least 6 months of doing nothing but working on this crappycrappycrappy compilation of ridiculously difficult and ambiguously worded problems, published solely to prey on nervous test-takers out of a cool $65. Plus shipping.
Even if you focus on your core discipline, most of the questions are multi-part monstrosities that will make you sweat, worried that you'll never finish the actual test within the allotted time. You'll begin to doubt your abilities, your hair will fall out, you'll ignore personal hygeine because things like brushing teeth take too much time away from studying, and you'll shell out even more money for references that you'll end up not needing. This is worst-case scenario. I barely managed to avoid this.
On another note, I have a nearly new copy for sale. $60. Free shipping. PM me if you want it!
Exam problems don’t fall within the scope of the exam. They’re good for extra practice and trying to over-learn material for the exam, but there are much better practice problems and exams to go through than these.
