Excellent technical book for a better understanding of streaming audio.
At first I could not get into this book as I am a newcomer to streaming audio and some of the terms like roon, squeezlight, etc were mysteries to me, so at first the book was a bit frustrating as it assumed too much of the reader. But, the more I read, the more I wanted to read and the information, though seemingly disjointed at first, became clearer as my understanding grew. Which is the aim of an instructional book such as this. I was first interested in streaming audio, just for convenience, but, reading this, watching Hans' videos on Youtube, I realised I had been missing the knowledge necessary for achieving better sound. I guess you would call me an intermittent audiophile, always been interested in HiFi since I was a lot younger, but the Improvements in sound I have achieved since reading and studying this, applying the principles outlined, far outweigh the small cost of the book and the effort to read and understand. A lot of information here and you need to have dedication to getting better sound and more importantly, better music. Digital audio has made enormous strides in the development of wonderful sounding products which have resulted from the understanding of what can degrade a digital signal. This book is a must for the committed audiophile.
