Rule number one of friendship: never, ever hook up with your best friend’s brother-in-law.
Guess which rule I broke? I blame the champagne. Don’t judge.
Jobe Hendricks, with his seductive gaze and billionaire aura, is basically human kryptonite. Even I admit he’s infuriatingly handsome, arrogant—and everything I should avoid.
A career move to London is meant to be my fresh start. Until Jobe checks in and offers me a proposition. So imagine my surprise when he asks me to be his girlfriend to secure a billion-dollar deal, to prove he’s not an untrustworthy, commitment-phobe.
He promised it was all for show. I promised myself I wouldn’t fall for him.
This is going to be the best-worst decision of my life… or just the worst. Fake it till you make it, right? Now, I’m navigating dinner dates and black-tie galas, all while pretending to be head over heels in love with the one man I swore I’d never fall for. Except, every stolen glance, every lingering touch feels dangerously real.

I recieved this as an arc copy and leaving an honest review
First off i wanted to start off with how much i connected with Zara. I haven't come across many books where the fmc doesn't want children. For me this was so validating and actually made me happy seeing that Zara stuck to her guns and didn't let anyone sway her choices (personally this is my choice also)
Zara could never stand Jobe, she always seen him as arrogant. They had one night together and he left before she woke, and the night was never spoken of again.
Zara got the opportunity to move to London for a new job and took it. She had to get away from her life where things were getting a bit overwhelming. London was that chance to change her life, make new friends and get the chance to get into a job she always wanted.
Zara made some friends through her job. Piper and George. Though the office was full of gossip she got close with them. Of course it couldn't be a love story without Jobe checking in on her on behalf of her friend Penny. He ends up checking in on her many times and they start a fake relationship to make a business merger happen. Those fake relationships get the best of people and emotions become real. Its hard when the person you hate becomes the person you're attracted to and falling for.
Piper made her question everything especially after losing her it really made Zara think about things. It made me happy to know that there wasn't an end date to the relationship especially when they both can't fake it anymore because it was all too real. You can't give up on them when they make life better.
This book will have you in ALLLLLL the feels! I went from frustration to happiness to laughter to crying. I love reading Leesa’s books because she makes sure all emotions are in there. Jobe and Zara are both strong willed and stubborn and I love that they get there HEA without compromising who they truly are. Absolutely a MUST read!

I have been looking forward to reading about how Zara Hart and Jobe Hendricks get together and whether or not things would explode or flourish… but… I’m not giving anything away.
Some great humour is threaded throughout this book, and unexpectedly, some great one-liners and banter from Jobe! The story is mostly upbeat, with everyday worries about couples and life. However, I will warn you that there is a part where I felt devastated by some news. 😢 The situation was so heartbreaking, and the angst was sudden but expertly inserted into the story.
Zara is such a complex character, even though she seemed straightforward in Penny’s book. It was great peeling back the layers to reveal the real her. As Zara said, Jobe is a dedicated businessman with little heart—well, okay, she said it more directly using some interesting words. 😂 But as Penny has always maintained, he does have a softer side that not many see. The gradual character building of both lead characters is one of the best aspects of this story, and there are many fantastic elements.
Penny and Zara’s friendship is rock solid, even over great distances, creating a fantastic atmosphere within the story. This feeling, through the intricate descriptions, helps to make The Wrong Proposal a superb story.
What did I like the most? I liked how this isn’t your average story; it’s a bit different, and that is very appealing.

Book 3 in the Hendricks Billionaires Series by Leesa Bow is an enemies to lovers, forced proximity, fake relationship, slow burn with lots of laughs and some unexpected tears!
We first meet Jobe (MMC) and Zara (FMC) in book 1 of this series and while you can read each book as a standalone I recommend reading them in order especially as there is a timeline overlap with this book and book 2.
Jobe is confident, smart and sexy and he knows it. He is a bit of a player and not looking for a committed relationship but then finds himself in the position of needing to be in one to help seal a big business deal he is working on in London.
Zara is strong, sassy and a loyal friend. Her friends are all getting married and having babies and that’s not what she wants in life. She decides on an adventure and jumps at the chance to live and work in London. She gains a new circle of friends who are much younger than her but she has YOLO attitude and takes each opportunity as it comes. She needs a place to live and her besties brother in law Jobe, has a solution but of course he needs something too.
The banter between Jobe and Zara is hilarious as they really can’t stand each other but they will take you for a ride with all the feels. Oh and the scene where he cooks for her… **chefs kiss** 🤌🏻
This book is one of my fav reads this year and I can’t recommend it enough. Be sure to grab the bonus epilogue as well 💛 as it will also set you up for book 4.
I’ve been excited to read Zara’s story since she was in Penny’s book as her best friend.
Zara took us through the wringer for a while. Her heart and her head being in a war with each other. She needed time away, time to focus on herself and almost like the decisions she’s made for her life needed to have a reason for it, when it really didn’t and it’s just such a shame that the world is so judgmental to make woman think they way we do.
I thought Jobe was so lush he was everything a Hendricks man is in the boardroom and so much more outside.
As always we get to see bits of the family and find out what everyone is up to which I love. I also loved that some of Leesa’s travels shown up in this book and I was in one of the city’s with her 🥰
I cannot wait for Charlotte’s book it’s going to be so good from the little bits in book 3.
I read this book in one sitting, I could not put it down! Jobe and Zara are such a fun couple! Jobe is more of a softie and romantic than anyone realized, but he made a lot of questionable choices that affected Zara. I was surprised she didn't make him grovel more at times! Zara comes off as a strong, independent woman, and she is, but she had more self doubt than I expected. Her and Jobe were a perfect match and I was sad to see their story end!
I loved Zara and Jobe's story. Ever since meeting Zara in Penny's book I have been waiting for it. I love her strong character who isn't afraid to be different. She knows what she wants. Jobe is a business man that is all work and no play. He is also Penny's brother in-law. Zara needs a p,ace to stay and Jobe needs a girlfriend to help land a deal, so they embark on a fake relationship.
This story. These characters. This author. I’m in love! I haven’t devoured a book this fast in a long time, but I found that I just couldn’t put this one down. The writing is truly incredible, the storyline is so well crafted, it’s one of those stories that you just feel connected to.
A remarkable story told by an even more remarkable woman.
This fake relationship romance was everything!!! The more she fights the pull, the more she falls. I loved this book on every level, the chemistry between these two was electric from the start and their journey was just as explosive.
The Wrong Promise is Jobe and Zara’s story. After moving to London for work, Zara moves into Jobe’s apartment in exchange for pretending to be his girlfriend to impress a business associate. What starts off as a fake relationship suddenly turns into something very real and neither want to admit that it’s serious. I love these characters and the friendship between Zara and Penny. I fell for Jobe and was rooting for the couple from the beginning. The wrong Promise is very well written and a page turner. Looking forward to book 4 in the series. Highly recommended
5 Star Review The Wrong Promise (The Hendricks Billionaires #3) by Leesa Bow
Book three in the latest series from Leesa Bow and was a good addition to The Hendricks Billionaires. This is Jobe Hendricks and Zara Hart’s story.
It was well written with characters who you cannot help but become invested in. What starts out as a fake relationship quickly morphs into so much more.
This book had humour, romance, and a story that was at times emotional.
I absolutely loved this delightful book by Leesa! This series is so enjoyable and I was excited to read Zara and Jobe’s story as they are strong characters that we have met in previous books. This book was well written and I loved every minute of their red hot chemistry. I look forward to reading more from Leesa! I received this book as an arc for my honest opinion.
There was a touch of frenemies about Jobe Hendricks and Zara Hart’s relationship, making it difficult to tell how they really felt about each other. They’d had a one-night stand, and he helped get a new job in London seemingly out of the goodness of his heart but when he arrives in London she agrees to a fake dating scenario in return for staying in his flat to help him land a business deal and it isn’t long before the lines between them are blurred.
My first read from this author and the third book in an interlinked series featuring the Hendricks family so I went into The Wrong Promise not knowing the history between the hero and heroine, and I don’t know if this has affected my opinion of Zara. Possibly once I’ve read the previous books I’ll change my review but right now Zara just wasn’t a very likeable character. She seemed envious of her friends who were married and starting families not because this was something she wanted, it was more their lives were changing while she was in a rut. She dreamt of working overseas but made no attempt to fulfil her dreams until Jobe offered her the chance of employment in London and she grabbed it with both hands. Perhaps if she’d made the effort to change her life for herself it mightve changed how I feel but when in London she had a superior attitude to her new friend group because they were younger which just reinforced my opinion. I so wanted to love this book because it featured an older heroine who wasn’t worried about her lack of a husband and children but Zara, I really wouldn’t want to know you.
Leesa pens a colourful story set in several lands, taking you on a tour of other worlds. A woman in a quest to find happiness in otherwise satisfactory life at an age where she realizes her wants & needs. Im always drawn towards stories where women are not mindless bimbos who have everything figured out at 23 and they don't know life hasn't started yet. Zara and Jobe start out as rivals with hardly any love, but a second chance gives them an oppertunity to connect again and the dormant emotions come to life. Their fake relationship goes through rigmorale of chemistry, physical closeness and metamorphosis of the heart. It's a page Turner, succulent-sizzling read. I breezed through it. 4 stars for a new timelineof happiness Follow me on: Email🌻 Bookbub 🌻 Twitter🌻 Instagram🌻 Blog🌻 Facebook🌻 Amazon 🌻
If you are looking for a read with all the feels, a fake to real journey that’s emotional, witty and full of love look no further than The Wrong Promise (The Hendricks Billionaires #3). This is Jobe Hendricks and Zara Hart’s story and it’s a great addition to the series. Zara is in London looking for a fresh start so imagine her surprise when her best friend’s billionaire brother in law needs help…… The man who haunts her dreams needs her to be his fake girlfriend to seal a billion dollar deal to prove he is not a commitment-phobe. Is this a win/wn for Zara and what could possibly go wrong…. One click this gem to find out. This was s a well written story with wonderful characters. I swooned, I smiled as I watched Zara and Jobe’s journey unfold. Looking forward to what’s coming next from the very talented Ms Bow’s.
The Hendricks brothers once again have you wanting more. Zara Hart is a complex stubborn woman, who happens to be Penny's best friend, Penny is married to one of the Hendricks, which means by default Zara has to put up with the most frustrating man she knows Jobe Hendricks.
After a career change and a move to London, thanks in part to Jobe, Zara begins to shine in her new role.
Jobe finds himself promising to check in on Zara as requested by his sister in-law Penny.
Both Jobe and Zara find themselves in an fake relationship to further Jobe and his business deal whilst Zara finds a place to stay to reduce the costs and build on her career.
There are plenty of humour sprinkled with sadness, excitement and dramas. Looking for to reading more.
A fake-relationship romance centres on a classic setup with plenty of sparks. Zara is looking for a fresh start in London, finds herself caught up in a whirlwind when Jobe Hendricks, an irresistibly handsome billionaire, asks her to be his fake girlfriend. What starts as a business proposition quickly turns complicated as their pretend relationship feels increasingly real. With humour, romance, and just the right amount of tension, this story delivers all the best elements of a fun, feel-good read.
This is the third book in this amazing series, and this is Jobe and Zara’s journey. This is a well written easy to read, emotional roller coaster, with family, friendships, heartbreak, fake relationships, humor, witty banter, challenges, engaging and realistic characters, undeniable chemistry, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining, tragic, unpredictable, and twisted, captivating page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
The heat is on. From frustrating to funny, Bow grabs your attention without ever letting go. The Wrong Promise is fire. Emotion that puts the heart on the line and the senses on full alert. A temptation too spicy to ignore.
