Kimberley Montpetit once spent all her souvenir money at the La Patisserie shops when she was in Paris—on the arm of her adorable husband. The author grew up in San Francisco, another swoon-worthy city, loves all things Parisian and chocolate and lives in a small town along the Rio Grande with her family.
Kimberley has won many awards for her work, including the Southwest Book Award, the Whitney Award, the Arizona/New Mexico Book Award, is a Crystal Kite Finalist (SCBWI) and included in the Bank Street College Best Books of the Year.
She once stayed in a haunted castle tower room at Borthwick Castle in Scotland, sailed on the Seine in Paris, walked the beaches of Normandy, eaten in numerous French cafes, ridden a camel in Petra, Jordan, sunbathed on Waikiki, shopped the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, and spent the night in an old Communist hotel in Bulgaria.
She adores all baked goodies; brownies, éclairs, donuts, tarts, and pie, and makes a lot of chocolate chip cookies while revising.
Kimberley is, of course, hard at work on her next novel(s).
We're back with another superb addition to the autumn series of The Coffee Loft. Caitey has travelled to be her cousin's wedding planner, she felt the pressure of giving her the perfect wedding. We met Jenna in Wake me up before you Cocoa, now the wedding will help Caitey prove her career choice is right. Never having success with her own relationships, she is happy giving others the happy ever after. Marcus always thought of Logan as his brother and now he has the opportunity to support him in his wedding. Something that always brings him heartbreak, but he'd do all he can to give the couple the wedding they deserved. Hiding in the trees he spied the gorgeous woman knocking, but nobody's home. Now in the Coffee Loft in town he'd introduce himself. Except she called him a stalker and acted scared. Can he prove his innocence and hopefully gain her trust. This is a brilliant story so heartfelt and shows the true meaning of the lengths some friends will go to for friends and family. I love all the books in this series but have to say this has been my favourite so far. And the choice of first dance song is perfect I love the song so much, make sure to add to your tbr list you won't regret it. ❤️📖📚☕️❄️🫕❤️
Snow is Falling, Cocoa is Calling! is part of The Coffee Loft: Fall Collection. This is a multi-author series with each book featuring a Coffee Loft shop, but all books can be enjoyed as standalones and in any order.
This was such a cute addition to The Coffee Loft series! This story drew me in right away with their fun meet cute. Being caught watching someone from the woods is certainly not the best way to get started off on the right foot, right!? But a great way to start a romance, nonetheless. Despite their initial awkwardness, Caitey and Marcus were sweet together. I loved seeing them work together to give their friend/cousin the perfect wedding--- even when it seems like absolutely everything that could go wrong DOES go wrong. It certainly kept things interesting! It had all the fall vibes that I'm loving from this collection--- but was also perfect for fall into winter too(when you never know when a snow shower might just pop us unexpectedly!).
Snow is Falling, Cocoa is Calling! is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
Unfortunately this book was not for me. It started off great, but after a chapter or two I just started to lose interest.
The book focuses so much on the wedding that there is hardly any interaction between the MCs till 60% of the book. And then suddenly they are flirting with each other and he is calling her my girl and getting her surprises? And all of that when he hasn't dated for 4 years? Because of his baggage, which was left unexplored?
I also couldn't feel anything happening between the characters- it seemed they were physically attracted to each other but I didn't feel any connection or love.
The whole thunderstorm and wedding planning seemed loosely based on Phoebe's wedding (FRIENDS).
I received an advance copy of the book and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Are you ready for another Coffee Loft book? One with lots of cute scenes, humor, swoony moments, upheavals, great characters, a wedding, and snow! Yes, snow! Get ready for a beautiful wedding that gets disrupted but turns out even more beautiful and perfect than originally planned. I loved the gorgeous wedding and felt like I was there in that magical scene.
Caitey and Marcus have a couple pretty funny meet-cute moments. Caitey doesn't quite think the first one is funny, but as the reader and seeing the whole picture, it is. Marcus is a gentleman and feels bad for scaring Caitey. He tries to keep his distance so as not to make her uncomfortable but the chemistry between these two is palpable and will have you anxiously awaiting more moments between them. Those dreamy looks and sweet gestures will have you swooning! *Happy Sigh*
And the hot cocoa scenes, especially the last one... dreamy!!!
This author's previous Coffee Loft book, Wake Me Up Before You Cocoa, is where you'll have seen Jenna previously. Jenna is the bride to be in this book and Caitey's cousin. Jenna is the owner of The Coffee Loft in the previous book. You can read them as standalones but both are fun books!
Grab your own mug of hot cocoa, a comfy blanket, warm socks and snuggle up to read this delightful book!!!
I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Jenna Thornton the bride is her cousin and she’s buzzin because she’s ordered her items to be specially engraved for her big day Jenna and Logan in beautiful gold lettering . Caitey having driven four hours from Santiago to California. Hearst Woods Estate , seems she’s arrived …Oh boy ,her cousin didn’t tell her that the wedding at a country house was a big powerhouse of the family Hearst , the Holy , hells bells she is out of her depth. She’s no expert and certainly not to this magnitude what was Jenna thinking . Talk about stress! Look at the premises! She should’ve known when a key code for the gate was given . “ “Okay, cousin. You said it was a nice house, not practically a castle.” “I think I need a second pair of hands to pull this off,” This is going to be big hassle …Marcus Sterling works at security specifically surveillance at his best friend Logan’s family estate. Look out mate, here’s your wedding date. He wasn’t told that there would be someone calling . Great legs , hourglass figure . Oh dear is it hot in here? Well they at last meet , and he finds out about the broken down car. So that’s where they are from Caitey. . So he wears suits to work what was his uniform position? “None of the above, I’m afraid. I hope I don’t disappoint you when I admit I’m a retired Navy grunt. Special forces for part of it. . .” “When you say, special forces in the Navy, what are you referring to?” Here’s where she squeals I’m willing to bet…”SEALs.” “Wow,” Caitey whispered. “I’ll bet you have some wild stories.” She seems to think a lot of wow about this man and who can blame her right? Especially when she finds out how vulnerable and endearing of a man he is. Could he be hers and her his? Well this is so sweet. Wouldn’t it be neat?A real treat. The snow has come down and this emits a frown from the bride, how can her guests get to the service and who is going to marry them now they’re snowed in the first place? “Marcus?!” she spluttered. “Where did you come from?” “The North Pole, I think.” He burst out laughing. “It is bitter out there!” Now all of a sudden everything’s coming up winter roses . Love ,Love , Loved this book so much . It’s very well written , I can tell you. Awesome characters to get your teeth into . Great storytelling Kimberley Montpetit . 🤩 🥂
This was such a sweet and magical Coffee Loft story! From the (slightly creepy) meet cute mishap to the romantic show filled ending, Marcus and Caitey’s story is filled with fun and surprises. Most of the story revolves around one wedding of Jenna and Logan from the first Coffee Loft series, and all of the craziness that goes along with a mountain wedding blessed with some unexpected snow. Wedding planner Caitley worked through some react obstacles and the final result was gorgeous! The characters were lots of fun, the storyline moved along quickly, and after minimal drama there’s a sweet HEA. The storyline had a few inconsistencies, but nothing earth shattering. I breezed right through this sweet story.
Mix a wedding, unexpected snow, and a power outage for a fun romance This is such a sweet story with wonderful characters. Caitey is a wedding planner hired by her cousin, Jenna, to design and deliver the perfect wedding. When Caitey arrives at the site, a mansion in the mountains, she finds herself not only locked out but being watched by a stranger dressed in a suit, hiding in the woods. After talking with her cousin, who has been delayed, she heads back to town to a Coffee Loft to find that she has been followed by the stranger. He turns out to be Marcus, the best man and security expert for the wedding. As they return to meet with the others and begin preparations for the wedding, they are faced time and again with problems that could stop the wedding and must work together to give their friends the wedding they desired while growing their own relationship. A truly enjoyable read. I received an early copy and this is my honest review.
This story is a dual pov, clean romance. It is part of a multi author series but can be read as a stand alone novel. I enjoyed that this story was focused on Jenna and Logan’s wedding for the most part. I felt like that added to the tension Marcus and Caitey were feeling because they needed to be focused on their friends and not on their feelings. Then when that slow burn finally leads up to the end its *chefs kiss*.
If you love a sweet slow burn romance. This is for you!
Snow is Falling, Cocoa is Calling! Is a clean, swoony, wedding disaster romance. I love everything about this book! Ms. Montpetit has created a dream wedding venue. Surely that many disasters could not befall a wedding - but it is all perfectly plausible in this brilliant book1 The writing, the characters and the story are all wonderful - even the mansion’s staff. Clear some time in your schedule and escape with this book - you will not regret it!
What a greet feel good story. Caitey is a wedding planner for her cousin beautiful wedding by the mountain side. She meets Marcus but at first gets the wrong impression of him. What can go wrong for these two. To many disasters can she pull it off. Will Marcus open up about his secrets. Great characters and story lines. Highly entertaining
Snow is Falling, Cocoa is Calling by Kimberley Montpetit is the 12th book in the Coffe Loft multi author standalone series. It was my first book by this author, and it will not be my last. Caity is hired by her cousin, Jenna, to be the wedding planner for her wedding to Logan at a mansion in the mountains. When she arrives, she finds out she is locked out and is being watched by a stanger in the trees. She heads back into town to the local Coffee Loft. The stranger in the trees turns out to be Marcus, the best man/security expert for the high-profile wedding. This book is told from a dual pov. It was a cute, sweet romcom. You get lots of cute scenes, swoony moments, a wedding, sweet hot cocoa scenes, a snowstorm, and a black out. It made me want to grab my own cup of hot cocoa.
I received an advance review copy, and I am leaving my honest review voluntarily.
This is a part of a multi-author series with each book featuring a Coffee Loft shop, but all books can be enjoyed as standalones and in any order.
Caity Belgrave has come across some bumps in the road on her journey of becoming a successful wedding planner. She was recently let go from her previous job and has been venturing out on her own and building her name in the wedding business. Her cousin as well as close friend, Jenna Thornton, is getting married to a very wealthy man, Logan, and organizing her wedding for such a wealthy and prominent family would be a positive turning point. The wedding is a private ceremony held in the northern part of California. Upon arriving to the massive HEARST WOODS ESTATE, she gets spooked by a man in a wonderfully fit suit and binoculars from afar. That man - Marcus Stirling, the best friend and best man for Logan, is also in charge of security for the estate.
I really like Caity. she is a glass half full kind of gal despite things in life not going the way she would like them. She was optimistic over every obstacle that came about and her loyalty to her cousin & friend was obvious in the way she was determined to make Jenna's wedding the very best. That is a wonderful and admirable quality to possess and to have a friend like that. Marcus, an ex-Navy seal, is handsome, fit, and loyal -- making sure no one is taking advantage of his best friend and making sure no one interferes with the wedding. There are times he mentions some PTSD from his time in the military overseas as well as some trust issues from a past situation that happened many years prior to this wedding. He definitely is swoon worthy with his grand and romantic gestures. Their meet cute was comical and fun.
This was a sweet love story and a quick read. I felt like a lot of the story surrounded Jenna & Logan's wedding vs our MC that are supposed to be the love interest hence at times there is not much depth to it as the romance/interest all happens in a few days time, but honestly, sometimes if you know you know right? It was not insta-lust which I appreciate as there is some time they take to get to know one another, but it is definitely an insta-love vibes. The chemistry is there and the author does do a good job building more of a connection on a deeper sense vs physical attraction -- although physical attraction is definitely evident. Not my favorite from this author but this won't stop me from enjoying her books!
I received an advanced copy of the book and all my thoughts and opinions are my own.
Snow is Falling, Cocoa is Calling! is a delightful blend of humor, romance, and unexpected chaos as Caitey creates the perfect wedding for her cousin and bestie Jenna amid blizzards and power outages.
Caitey Belgrave, is relatable and endearing as she struggles to pull off the wedding of her cousin’s dreams while handling a series of unforeseen disasters. From the moment she meets the mysterious Marcus Stirling, sparks fly—though not always in the way you’d expect. Their initial encounter is a mix of humor and tension, setting the stage for a love story filled with banter, misunderstandings, and sizzling chemistry. Caitey’s ingenuity and determination to overcome every obstacle highlight her resilience, making her a character worth rooting for.
Marcus, a retired Navy SEAL with a surprising soft side, is the perfect romantic foil for Caitey. Their interactions have laugh-out-loud moments but also tender, heartfelt scenes that add depth to their budding relationship. His banter and chemistry with Caitey make every scene a joy to read.
I loved all the descriptions of the snowy estate and the decorations of the wedding. The snowy setting and cozy themes make it a perfect winter read. Being a hot chocolate lover, I especially enjoyed the all the times Caitey and Marcus shared cocoa--that last scene was so romantic. This is the kind of book you’d want to curl up with on a snowy evening, cocoa in hand.
Snow is Falling, Cocoa is Calling! is part of The Coffee Loft: Fall Collection, a multi-author series with each book featuring a Coffee Loft shop, but all books can be enjoyed as standalones and in any order.
I received a complimentary copy. All thoughts expressed in this review are my own.
Yea, I was really hoping I would like this book but it wasn't for me. I really enjoyed the wedding planning aspect.
Marcus was really sweet & quite the male lead. I liked him.
Caitey was sweet, albeit a bit annoying sometimes.
Really the saving grace of this book was the characters. The characters were likable (except Caitey).
Parts of this book just didn't make sense.
It will be a short nice read for you if you can deal with some of it not being very realistic.
I got to 85% and wanted to chuck my kindle. She asks him to carry her into the house and he talks about carrying heavy gear (100 Lbs) when Iin the Navy and she is all "well I hope I don't weigh as much as gear and guns" No, just no. I can't stand this type of subtle body shaming bigotry. Like I am glad I don't have to leave a star rating to review here because I want to give it one star for that line alone. There are very few exceptions where ANY fully grown women should be less than 100 lbs. It is not healthy. Stop promoting unhealthy body images. Unless the woman is like 4 foot exactly and has a small bone structure it would be unhealthy to weigh less than 100 lbs. Disgusting.
Just no.
So if that won't bother you (and there are plenty of bigoted people who would be fine with it)... Maybe you will like the book. I don't know.
Caitey has been asked to plan her cousin's wedding. When she arrives at the house (or should I say palace), she is in complete awe and a little creeped out as well. No one is around. So, we have a monstrous house in the middle of the woods (in the middle of nowhere) with no one around. That is except for the guy hiding in the woods watching her. I was beginning to get serial killer vibes, but I knew that was not going to be the case in this really cute romantic comedy.
Marcus is just doing his job weirdly enough in an expensive suit. When Caitey goes spinning out of the driveway, he realizes he has creeped her out. This meet cute was one that will never been forgotten by Marcus and Caitey.
As Marcus and Caitey work together to make this wedding everything the bride and groom dreamed of, the snags just kept coming. This story gave new meaning to the saying if anything can go wrong, it will go wrong. It seemed the wedding was doomed.
The wonderful cast of characters and fun storyline make this book the newest and cutest installment in The Coffee Loft series. The hot cocoa scenes were beyond swoony and sweet. I enjoyed reading this book from start to finish.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
In 'Snow is Falling,' we get transported outside the world of the Coffee Loft to a destination wedding on an old family estate high in the mountains of Cali. We do get a rather delicious and dramatic meet cute at the Coffee Loft down the mountain, but we get snowed in from visiting too often. It's a good thing the estate's cook makes a mean hot cocoa. There is some matchmaking from the bride and groom to get their wedding planner cousin, Caitey, and ex-SEAL best man, Marcus, together. Things don't go as they hoped at first, but they have some sizzling instant attraction. Marcus has quite the tale of love and loss, but he knows he can't let his attraction to amazing Caitey pass him by. I loved the series of unfortunate events leading up to the wedding, bringing more than one couple together. We get some sweet moments with Marcus and Caitey that will have you swooning in the snow!
You can expect a matchmaking, groom's bff, instant attraction, they both fall story. The grandiose estate gives this story a magical quality, and I'm here for it!
I received a complimentary copy of the author's story to read and review. All thoughts contained here are my own.
Caitey is a wedding planner, who agrees to plan a small wedding at a mansion in the mountains. After so many mishaps and bad luck, Caitey wants to make sure everything is perfect, this is for her cousin Jenna after all.
Marcus is a retired Marine defense specialist who now does security surveillance for wealthy people, including his best friend Logan. He is accused of being a stalker when Caitey arrives early and see him creeping in the woods in his suit.
When everyone is stranded in the mountains, during a freak snowstorm, they all have to pitch in to pull off the perfect wedding. Too bad it is disaster central. Caitey has such high expectations for herself after so many letdowns. She has a hard time letting Marcus in, even though Jenna and Logan really wanted them to meet.
She wants to give Jenna her dream wedding and not fall for the dangerous best man. Marcus is the sweetest and when he goes snowshoeing to help save the day..... 😍
This was a sweet story and I loved the connections to Wake Me Up Before you Cocoa. The story goes beyond the wedding and into a wintery wonderland of playful fun where Caitey has to decide if Marcus is worth it.
This is was a lovely 4.5 star (4 stars on Goodreads as no half stars are allowed) read and my first by this author but not my first in The Coffee Loft Series: Fall Collection. This book was slightly different to the others I have read in the series. In the other books a lot of the action happens in The Coffee Loft but in this book there is only one actual scene in the Coffee Loft but it is mentioned throughout the book and there is no denying this is part of the Fall Collection. I loved the story, the setting and the characters. There were some very cute laugh out loud moments and some very honest and touching parts too. The characters were believable and I truly enjoyed the writing. I especially enjoyed the conversations and felt like I was actually there. I truly hope to read other books by Kimberley and hope that there will be a Winter Collection of The Coffee Loft and that Kimberley will be a participant.
If you're on the hunt for a delightful fall read that brings a splash of winter joy, check out Snow is Falling, Cocoa is Calling. It’s perfect for early November! This charming story is part of the Coffee Loft Series, where love is always brewing. In this installment, we meet Caitey, a wedding planner thrilled to help with her cousin and best friend's wedding. But when an unexpected snowstorm throws a wrench in the plans and keeps the essential crew from reaching the venue, it’s up to Caitey and Marcus, a handsome retired Navy Seal turned Security, to come to the rescue!
Watching these two navigate all the challenges while sparking a sweet connection was an absolute joy. If it could go wrong, it definitely did, making for some fun and heartfelt moments! Happy reading!
P.S There were moments when I felt the story was repetitive in places but overall it didn’t take away from the enjoyment of the story.
I was so happy when I saw Kimberly Montpetit was back with another story in The Coffee Loft Series. I loved Wake Me Up Before You Cocoa. I absolutely loved this book as well. Caitey is a wedding planner and is getting to plan her cousin Jenna's wedding. Marcus is Logan's best friend and best man. When Caitey and Marcus first meet things are a little weird but overtime these two start to have a connection. I loved everything about this story. Logan and Marcus will have you swooning like crazy! These two men will do anything for the ones they care about. Jenna and Caitey are more like sisters then cousins and have such a great relationship. The story and characters were well written and enjoyable. This book will have you swooning and smiling throughout. I would highly recommend this book.
Thank you Kimberly Montpetit for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.
Is a sweet close proximity, ex military rom-com with no cliffhanger. Some of the lines I really like ---- “Is your Coffee Loft cocoa speaking to you? Or maybe it’s those disappearing miniature marshmallows calling your name . . .” --- “Is it too late to back out?” Terror just hit me right in the gut!” ---- "I wanted perfection, but life doesn’t work like that." ---- “The truth about magic is creating it one step at a time.” ---- “There are endless steps to the magic of love and life. And we create it every single day. ---- Who's the lady in the picture that fell out of Marcus's wallet? What's the secret in Marcus's past? These and other questions will all be answered. I loved Caitey and Marcus's story and I'm sure you will too. This is my first book by this author, but it wont be my last.
The story started off very intense. I was beginning to think I was reading a suspenseful drama, but it did grab my attention. I liked the characters, Caity Is the cousin to the bride and also the wedding planner. Marcus is the best friend of the groom but also running security for this exclusive wedding. I thought the story seemed a little rushed. There was not a lot of character development and there were also a few inconsistencies to the story. I also didn’t feel a connection with the series. The only connection was that the bride owned a couple of coffee loft shops, and the two main characters met at one. I did enjoy the plot and how everyone worked together to make it a happy occasion. It just needed to be polished a little bit more. I appreciate that it is a clean, wholesome romance, no swearing.
A truly enjoyable book about a wedding planner and a security guard. Caitey is tasked to bring her cousin the best wedding ever at her groom to be’s home, the Hearst Estate. She is totally surprised when she first arrives by a handsome man in the woods stalking her and wearing an expensive suit. Strange to say the least. Marcus is the security specialist for the Hearst family and is mesmerized by the unexpected visitor to the estate while he is out checking the grounds. They grow closer as everything that could go wrong with the wedding events actually did. This book is a comedy of errors in wedding problems that seem to arise. Will they be able to pull off the wedding without falling in love themselves? Recommend this book for a wonderful and lighthearted story that is sure to please.
Caitey is planning the wedding for her dear cousin and her fiancé. They’re having the wedding at his family’s country home in the mountains. Marcus is the groom’s best friend and also serves as security manager for the family property. Their meet-cute is more meet-creepy, but it’s attraction at first sight for both of them. Over the course of the next few days, you see Marcus and Caitey get to know each other and decide to give room for their attraction to bloom. This forced-proximity romance will have you smiling and sighing at the impressive feats these two and the other characters in the book are able to pull together. The romantic wedding in the book might not be theirs, but since he falls first, you hope their wedding isn’t that far behind. Such a sweet and fun read.
This was another cute story in the Coffee Loft series that centered around Caitey, a wedding planner. I liked how the wedding was being held at an estate in the mountains. Caitey and the bride were cousins. The groom had a sexy friend named Marcus who did surveillance on the estate property. I enjoyed how Marcus and Caitey met even though he had scared her. There were definitely sparks that flew between them. This was such a fun story with great characters. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Snow is Falling, Cocoa is Calling! by Kimberley Montpetit, part of The Coffee Loft Series is a great story that shows that with the right people, the right attitude, persistence and love, you can achieve anything against the toughest of odds!
I especially like this story because no matter what was thrown in Caitey’s path, she prevailed with a smile. I appreciated all of the lighthearted humor and I was swooning over Marcus. the hunky navy seal. Recommend for a sweet kisses wedding romance
What an adorable wedding romance story! Caitey is the wedding planner and cousin of Jenna, and Marcus works security and is the best friend of Logan, who are getting married in this book. Caitey and Marcus meet when they show up for the wedding and have instant chemistry. The story takes place in the days leading up to the wedding and then anything that can go wrong on the day of the wedding does. The sparks continue to fly between Caitey and Marcus through all of it, and Marcus is there for Caitey and helps her as she scrambles to still pull off the wedding. They are so cute together!
Such a sweet story. All Jenna wanted is a beautiful Fall wedding and to live happily ever after with the love of her life, Logan. Her cousin Caitey is the perfect wedding planner to make it happen. But when one thing after another go wrong, even the best wedding planner might have to accept that it won’t happen. And this mysterious man in the woods with the binoculars add intrigue and maybe some magic. After all Magic happens one step at a time. This book was so fun with wonderful characters, best friends, family, and a whole lotta snow
