“Tell Me a Story” is the fifth Anthology published by the Bowers House Writers Guild. The Guild is an association of writers mostly residing in North Georgia with the mission of providing a positive atmosphere for aspiring writers to learn and a platform for experienced writers to assist through teaching and mentoring. “Anthology V, is subtitled – “Inspire me, encourage me and entertain me with wonder”, which expresses the goal of each member writer. Included here are fifty entries consisting of short stories, poems and essays, intended to achieve that goal.
Tell Me (How to Write) A Story is an essential guide for anyone who wants to be a good writer. Although intended for novice writers, I believe writers of any experience level benefit from author E.J. Runyon’s sage advice.
This book is written in six parts, with chapters going deeper into each subject. You can use this book in any order, I tend to skip around and read the subjects that are important to me on any given day. My copy is only a few months old, but is already well-loved, with a broken spine, and creased pages.
An excellent self-help book for new writers. Full of excellent advise and even a grammar lesson or two. There are a lot of classic tips in here and easily lain out so you can dip in and get that much-needed inspiration when you need it. I like this book and recommend it to anyone who needs a friend to help them out, cuz that's the tone this book sets, thank you, E. J. Runyon, a writer's friend.
