T. E. Killian has been an Army Medic, high school English teacher, pastor, hospital chaplain, crisis counselor, police chaplain, and pastoral counselor.
All of these occupations have helped him to understand how men and women build and keep relationships. He also knows how they repair or destroy those relationships. He has also observed how people interact in all kinds of situations.
They also give him firsthand knowledge of how people live and act within each of those types of situations. Therefore, his characters take on the characteristics and personalities of people who work in all of the occupations he knows so well.
Having been in many crisis situations over the past thirty plus years, he can write about them realistically.
He and his wife, Ann, live in Black Canyon City, Arizona, where he writes fulltime.
A soothing, comforting, charming and feel-good book!
Set in a small town Crowleyville, this book is about an ex DEA agent who has been paralyzed by a bullet in his spine and an RN who has lost her husband and son in an accident. Mike and Daisy interact frequently. Mike is still in a disgruntled mode because he is still unable to ambulate on his own and dislikes being dependent on someone else for most of his needs. Daisy realizes this and wants to assist him. Because of her past, she has elected to work as the director of a home for challenged individuals.
In addition to these two main characters, there are a lot of other endearing characters such as the Sheriff Floyd, his wife Sue, pastor Gil and wife Jo, Mike's mother Sarah, deputy Jason, Physical Therapist Karen and the doctor couple Stella and Mark who add to the enchantment of this captivating book.
There are also unsavory characters such as Harris who has an ax to grind with Mike and his family seems to have the same temperament with psychopathic tendencies thrown in thereby adding to the riveting aspects of the book. Further adding to the allure of the book are the Christian values and principles mentioned frequently.
A wonderful, appealing book providing an enjoyable reading experience!!
Mike a former DEA agent that career ended when a bullet hit his spine, and now with nightmares, and a wheelchair. His mother sells everything in Arizona and moves in, to help take care of him, till he can walk again. Daisy who lives in a place with some other people who need special care. As a nurse, she comes visit Mike. Unlike most people he turns them away, but not her or her daughter Lucy. The attraction is there could it be more. Will the operation give him the success he hopes for.
Well-written book with interesting characters and some suspense. Mike is a former DEA agent, who is in a wheelchair after assisting the sheriff when someone tried to kill him. Daisy lives with her daughter in a place with some people who need special care. They meet when Daisy, who is a nurse, comes to visit Mike with her daughter. Mike usually turns anyone away who comes to see him, but not these two. There is a surgery that may give Mike back the use of his legs, so he does physical therapy while waiting for that to happen. Daisy has had some sadness in her life due to losing her son and husband in an automobile accident. There are Christian principles and values mentioned throughout the book and I enjoyed getting to know the other characters.
The characters in this book are really interesting. The story is well thought out and well developed. It moves at a good pace, leaving no room for boredom. I had a hard time putting it down. It kept my interest all the way to the end.
