Notes From The In-Between

Rate this book
Notes From The In-between is a debut collection of poetry informed by real life experiences before, during and after emotional and sexual abuse. Noelle’s debut poetry collection weaves together an intimate and vulnerable tale of consuming love, deep spirituality, and finding liberation. The tale is gracefully crafted with a dash of whimsy, a fair amount of sorrow, and the perfect amount of hope.

First of all, I just want to say a huge thank-you to the author for corresponding with me on Booktok and taking the time to interact with me; this is how I was introduced to her fabulous poetry book.

I truly did enjoy this book, and I felt as though I endured a great journey while reading it, and I learned so much. I gained a new perspective on the themes that occurred within this book, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to read the personal stories of encountering and overcoming hardships.

My heart goes out to the author and I am so proud of her for sharing the story of her journey.

Wow! These poems are so beautifully written in a way that they will rip your heart open and make you read on. It is incredibly heartbreaking and tragic, yet addictive and intimate. I do not think there is one page that I did not underline something on. Noelle was so brave to put her raw, most hidden parts of her being onto paper in such an elegant way. A small book, with little words, yet so much to process. Thank you Noelle.

this book is hot and sexy for all my poetry hoes and abuse survivor babes.

But on a serious note, this book is so in depth about what living in abuse is like but isn’t crass. It beautifully describes the dichotomy of being in love with someone who abuses you, of someone who is your darkest dark but also your lightest light, and the aftermath that comes from leaving.

Def read if you’re thinking about leaving or just left an abusive relationship, and you want to consume that content in the form of beautiful poems.

I am not a good enough writer to describe how amazing this book is. It does an amazing job at taking you through the journey of an abusive relationship; how it starts like a dream and slowly turns dark. It taught me so many lessons and also helped me feel seen and come to terms with my own experiences. What I enjoyed the most though, was the ability of the writer to make my heart ACHE. There are poems that will leave you breathless and needing to take a pause. IN THE BEST WAY. I also loved that the way the book is organized because it takes you through the whole journey beginning to end.

I haven’t read many poetry books that have such solid structure. It’s both a book you can pick up and flip through or a book you can sit down and read page by page. Especially since reading it page by page takes you on such an intentional and intense journey through this relationship.
Definitely worth rereading to catch all the tiny call backs and references to other poems made through out .

This was a heartbreaking recounting of unfortunately relatable pain, beautifully told by Noelle. I was left in tears and my heart hopeful. I can’t wait to see what she works on next!!

A wonderful book that is raw, personal, soft, angry and fantastic at breaking stigmas.
