New York playwright and screenwriter Joshua James (SPOOGE - The Sex & Love Monologues) has made forty-four of his popular short plays royalty-free for independent and amateur production in THE JOSHUA JAMES PROJECT.
That's right, you can produce these plays, royalty-free, if the right circumstances are met.
Included in this collection are the favorites ALL THE RAGE, A GAY THING, AMBIVALENT, SOMETHING SITUATION, THE BEAUTIFUL ONE and the Off-Broadway premiering EXTREME EUGENE, among many others.
THE JOSHUA JAMES PROJECT is registered in Amazon's matchbook program... if you choose the print version, you get the ebook for free!
Joshua is a screenwriter and recovering playwright, author of The Joshua James Project. He's written a ton of plays that have been produced all around the country. You can check them out here.
Joshua has also written the film POUND OF FLESH, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, among other fun projects.
Joshua loves ice cold tea, cool summer breezes and hot Brazilian Jiujitsu, though not necessarily in that order.

I came across Joshua James’ “The Joshua James Project” only recently when I was looking for a short 10 minute play for our community theatre’s production of comedic plays. I was particularly drawn to “A Gay Thing” and without even getting to the end (which is, incidentally, brilliant), knew that I was onto something good and this was exactly what I wanted to direct. As a novice director, I found the simplicity in staging (sets/props/lights) helpful. We performed it to two evenings of packed houses comprising of Bangkok's theatre-loving crowd. It was well received and everyone throughly enjoyed the play, laughed through it, at points gasped and praised the choice I had made in choosing a truly entertaining piece. A good show all based on a good play and this is just one of his many entertaining works. I am already in the planning of doing another Joshua James’ play.
This play as well as the 43 other plays in this superb collection touches on adult issues and contains language that is not suitable for kids, but each is written well with real insight and observation. There are quick comebacks, clever humor, and real life situations written clearly and boldly. A joy to produce, direct, perform, watch or in this case read. I strongly recommend that you add this and his other books to your read list or collection.
